Lessons from the Live MCGI Cares held on the 19th March 2024 via zoom
I joined the the Live MCGI Cares via zoom and I learnt a lot from the program anchored by bro Daniel.
In this video, I shared some of the lessons I learned from the program. Watch and be blessed.
Some of the important points learned from the words of God discussed in the Zoom meeting are:
- There are things that are written that we should not do as children of God because they serve as warning to us. 1 Corinthians 10:11
- We should imitate things that are good just like the brethren in Thessalonia were asked to imitate the church in Judea in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 2:14
- There is always something to imitate in the church of God.
- There is a behavior been thought in the church of God. 1 Timothy 3:15
- Today people imitate things that go viral on social media but the Bible asks us to imitate something good.
- We should keep away from evil. 1 Corinthians 15:33
- There is something we are going to imitate in Christ because there are examples we are going to learn from Jesus Christ. The things he did, his doctrines and so on. 1 Peter 2:21
- Jesus says he does not do things for himself. So we need to do as he says. John 12:49
- We need to change from our evil ways and see the way Christ want us to live
- We should be influenced by the doctrine of Jesus Christ taught by the word of God.
- The benefit of doing good include living long and being healthy
- When you love your enemies, you are going to enjoy it on the judgment day. So loving your enemies is preparing for the future
My former beliefs or expectation that was improved for listening at the Zoom meeting
In the teaching of the day, I got to understand that not everything we see in the Bible is what we should do. Some things are just there as examples and warning for us and we should not do them. For example, many people use to talk about many great men in the Bible who had more than one wife and see nothing wrong in marrying more than one wife but failed to see the warnings of the danger in marrying more than one wife which is the lesson that God want us to learn.
Ways in which the study affect us that can make us a better person that we can use in our daily lives
Today's study has affected me in many ways.
I was so touched when I saw the video of the social experiment where a woman was going round to ask people to sell to her at a reduced price and many people sold to her without even collecting money. I was so touched by this and made up my mind to imitate this.
