Two days without electricity...
For the past two days (give or take) we had no electricity at the house. Mostly it was due to a misunderstanding and miscommunication between people in the house and the person that has an account with the utility company but it reminded me about all the times we had no electricity during major storms in Florida and Puerto Rico.
No one in the house was expecting the electricity to go down, but man was it a HOT time. The first night wasn't too bad, the house was hot but at least the wind was blowing. It was only around 79 degrees inside the house. That night I ate some cold spaghettio's... Honestly, it was the first time I ate them cold, and they're actually pretty good. LOL I'm so humble.
The next day we broke out the grill and propane and had a good lunch outside. Since nobody really had anything to do, we all decided to start cleaning and doing some chores. My job was just to transplant a mango tree from a small container into the ground while taking care of the other plants. I also managed the grill and was cooking and doing a bit of cleaning while also taking care of the pets. It wasn't too bad of a time until night time hit.
Last night inside the house was 82 degrees and it was very humid. We had the windows open hoping that there may be some wind from a storm (since it's been raining a lot lately). Sadly, there was absolutely no wind so it was a sweaty and uncomfortable night. I only slept for a little over 5 hours.
This morning I woke at around 4 am and couldn't go back to sleep. I was also feeling a little peckish so I grabbed a can of food and ate it cold (I was too lazy to walk outside and turn on the grill at 4 am). After a while I dozed off a bit getting a quick 30-minute nap, by the time it was 7 am, I walked outside to let the dog use the bathroom while I took care of the plants. When I went back inside, the electricity was already back.
It wasn't that bad of a time. I think it would be worse if the water wasn't running. I guess for now everything is back to normal. Next time, I hope, people will communicate a little better.
