Progressive Policies Hurt Latino Migrants

Progressives think they are helping Latinos by creating sanctuary cities and showering people with welfare. In my view, they are not helping undocumented Latino migrants, but instead hurting them.

Psychologically, people can be very dependent on services and goods that are given to them for free. They feel entitled to them, and if they consistently get something and then it is gone, they will feel negative in some way. That negative feeling may lead to negative actions. Think of it from a perspective of privilege and abundance, sure people will be grateful and thankful in the short term, but long-term dependence can change those feelings. This isn't to say that migrants don't work, this is, however, acknowledging that sometimes some people take advantage of generosity, especially when they know the generosity can be guaranteed.

Progressives want dependent Latinos, not entrepreneurs. They focus on letting migrants break the laws and become a nuisance to some communities instead of actually genuinely helping and educating them about our legal and financial system. Rarely do these publicly funded projects try to teach migrants English to help them understand the process. Some of these undocumented migrants would have a better chance of succeeding if these people returned home with some sort of knowledge instead of wasting their brain power in a sanctuary hotel.

Men the majority of indocumented latinos are hard workers (more even the locals), I disagree with you

My point was that an abundance of welfare can lead to stagnation, and may even hurt the community that they are trying to help.

That is the same situation for locals that receive the same and more benefits, I don´t know why you try to put the focus in inmigrants

The difference is that the locals are citizens and legal migrants, not undocumented migrants. Should productive undocumented people be given an option to eventually become a citizen, sure. Yet, Americans don't owe them welfare.

Every single country in Latin America has immigration restrictions, so why shouldn't the United States?

For me eliminated worldwide the immigration restrictions is the solution, that way no country would have incentives to plunder another. The incentive would be to achieve a similar development everywhere.

Inmigrations restriction start in XIX century, before that there not exist.

That would be ideal, but we don't live in that world considering the religious, historical, and economic tension between these countries along with the ease of travel.

That negative feeling may lead to negative actions.

The negative actions aren't an unintended consequence of the welfare state.

The left banks on the negative actions. Anyone who does anything to disrupt the feeding trough will be bowled over by the negative action.

The threat of negative actions is the basis of political power.
