Dianne Feinstein And Term Limits: Is It Time?

It is crazy to think of any politician that has served office up until the age of 90. Senator Dianne Feinstein has taken the legacy of the longest serving politician in U.S. History which has reignited the debate on term limits.

Now, this is a grand achievement, but does this represent a need to have term limits? The positive aspects of having term limits can lead to a reduction of special interest groups having power over powerful individuals. With more options, the elites would have to shell out more money to gain support from lobbying. Some suggest that term limits can improve voter turnout, and could lead to more focused administrations. On the opposite end, some say with the lack of age comes a lack of experience. With so many inexperienced congressmen, depending on how long the term limits are, they may be a little more susceptible to influence from the Executive Branch.

Whatever your views are, term limits are a convoluted subject. It's hard to pinpoint the success of having term limits, but if we don't get back our country soon then we'll lose what made this country great.
