“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air" — Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have started this competition in the hope that it will prove to be a fun and interesting way to get people to interact and engage with each other here on #proofofbrain. After all that's what it is all about.

It could be about anything really, ranging from a memorable quote to a story or maybe just a random question about life itself. Literally any subject is open for discussion but I will try and not let it get too crazy !

To enter the competition you simply have to make any type of comment on this post and I will do a daily random draw for 3 lucky winners.

You are not required to Upvote, Re-Blog or Follow but it would be quite nice. 😁

If you really want to show support for #rtotd you can always use the promote button on on any of my daily posts and burn a #pob or two to get the post more exposure 😉

RANDOM.ORG offers true random numbers to anyone on the Internet. The randomness comes from atmospheric noise, which for many purposes is better than the pseudo-random number algorithms typically used in computer programs

Thanks for reading. #rtotd

Interesting question, but hard to answer.
Maybe I'll take an easy route here, and say it depends on the child. Some will instinctively understand certain basic concepts, and not need to be taught them, while another child excels in other areas, and would need a little help with those basic concepts. My little guy is a natural at a lot of things, but I'm definitely going to have to teach him certain social lessons.
Also, right now we're raising our babies and children in a very unhealthy and unsustainable "pandemic" situation. They don't get to see human faces very often, for one thing. This is traumatizing and is going to have lasting effects on society. So this conversation wouldn't be complete without mentioning that, although my hope is that we can figure things out very soon, and get back to living freely again, and get to work reducing the scars this will leave on our kids. They're resilient, but then again, they are made up of their experiences. If we traumatize them, not all of them will come through it 100% unscathed. The lessons they need to be taught may depend on how well they survive this current crisis.

Our children should be taught the importance of self-belief and self-love. That they possess an intrinsic inner voice that drives them forwards, keeps them going when life seems at it's most challenging. The little voice that keeps telling them over and over like a mantra that they are worthy, they have value. That their voice matters. their choices matter. Their lives matter. They need to be encourages to listen to THAT voice, and as parents and/or important adults in their lives, we need to reinforce the message with regularity so that they don't end making poor life decisions due to a sense of poor self image, being overly body conscious or feeling knocked down and defeated when things don't always go as expected. Life happens, and when it does in an unfavourable manner, our children should know that they are loved and appreciated for who they are; they should be proud of themselves and the values they sustain, for it is these values that will carry them forward and lift them back up again.

Being a mother of two grown boys I can tell you my tried and tested lesson.
Teach them about honesty, integrity and the fear of God.
The rest will come by naturally.
When you teach these they learn the value of hard work, they understand the need to be honest in every little thing they do and develop fine work ethics which help them blossom into fine humans, professional, citizens of the world and most of all compassionate people.
Honestly when I look at my boys I can tell you that every effort I have put into them has paid off.
They are the so good in what they do, one a neurosurgeon other a budding Doctor and honestly I don't think I could have done any better.

Hello,

This song from RATM brings back memories. Listening again I feel like I'm at one of those parties where someone else needed to help me find the door.

I've been discussing this very matter with my kids the last couple days. They are trying to learn to share a room together. They are old enough to listen to some of my stories and I've been telling them a little about the roommates I have had over the years.

I told my boys the most important thing is to have a clear identity about who you are or you will be eaten up by your roommate's character. Bad character corrupts good company. If we don't learn to accept ourselves for who we are then somebody else will try to make us something we are not.

Everything we teach whether if it is practical or spiritual is to some value but if a kid cannot make a decision for themselves then they are screwed.

Is intentionally random still random?

Hello @elricmoonslayer this is an interesting random question, which i will try to answer base on the most important lesson my dad thought me.
My dad thought me self love and to always believe in my self no matter what, he thought me humanity first before religion or tribe.

To see everyone as equal regardless of color, religion , country or tribe.

He will say "my dear daughter we all are humane first before anything else.
I think the world needs more of my dad's basic lesson.

This is an important question but it may not really have a straight forward answer, I guess the lesson we hold most important is based on our values.

Personally the most important lesson I would teach my child is to always be honest, integrity before anything else and also confidence and self love.

After good through all the comments here on this topic ,I want to say that I sincerely agreed with them all,cause they have done justice to this one way or the other,but still I just have little to say or I should just say just a word that I pick from the scripture which says ;

Teach your child the way of the lord , So that he will give you rest

It means parents will have rest when they show their wards the best way to live
