Thank you @katerinaramm! I suspect he was just out wandering. The park's trail goes behind a lot of residential homes. We do however, have strays; that is how I got my current kitties; we rescued them from the area around our home. It's a rural area, and in the case of the youngest one, we did try to find the owners. With my oldest one, he was part of a litter from my neighbor's cat. She had a cat over population and often tried to give me kitties, so that's how I got him. His mother (kitty) dropped him at my house and left him.
