Have You Heard The News?!………My Actifit Report Card: May 25 2026

It would seem that you might could say that this pink chicken was announcing something important! Have you heard the news?! It’s Cyle’s birthday!🎂 🎊🎁🎈

14 years ago, Cyle’s mom gave birth to him on our roof of all places! She was a Manx kitty and each spring, she’d come to give birth and begin raising her babies. It was 2012, and a few weeks later when the kittens began to be mobile, she’d bring them down under the shelter of the overhang by the patio door. I remember this little kitten-so energetic and with the longest tail I’d seen on a kitty! I really wanted him but one day as mom was prone to do, she moved them back home to the neighbor’s house. 😔

I had a kitty who was born previously from the same mom whom I had named CoreyB. He’d been with me for 8 years but had suddenly taken sick and was suffering kidney failure. We nursed him to the end and I was heartbroken. He died January of 2012.

Fast forward to August of 2012- I’d had knee surgery in March but because of work and not resting as I should have, it was not healing as fast as it should. I had taken vacation from work to give it some downtime. I was out back on a swing really sad as I was missing my CoreyB. I remember a quick prayer asking for God to send me a kitty.

Later on that day, I went out front to find mama kitty with this kitten I’d wanted and a couple others with her. She sat and looked at me and the. Took everyone but the kitten I’d wanted-the one with the longest tail! He was left behind and was under the truck. I guess God heard my prayer! Despite my knee, I got some soft food and coerced him so I could grab him. He was so thin! He was having trouble breathing! I held onto him and was going to put him in a cat carrier but couldn’t reach it. So, I popped him in a cardboard box and taped it shut; got in the car and went to the vet.

I told her what was in the box; that I didn’t think he’d really survive, but that we had to try! She took him out and pulled a huge dried mat of mucus off of his nose and his breathing immediately improved! She gave me antibiotics for him as he had an upper respiratory infection and told me to keep him separate from the other kitties. For two weeks he resided in the large cat carrier we had and had playtime on the waterbed. Maybe that’s why he loves the waterbed to this day!

Needless to say, he survived and grew up to be one of the biggest cats I’ve ever had and yes-the longest tail too! 😁😽

So, Happy Birthday Cyle! May you live to a seriously ripe old age! (25+ years please)

Our plans to go to Boulevard Park didn’t happen as it rained today. We did go out and stopped at our favorite place……

We spent a bit of time hiking the mall. The pretzel place should not be allowed to smell that good, lol! I behaved myself and didn’t partake, but man they smelled heavenly! 😇

That’s gonna be it for now. Tomorrow sees us headed to the DMV for soon to be birthday boy ( the human one-not Cyle 😁) for his license renewal. 🤞 Not sure how the ‘in person’ thing is going to go as they are making this difficult this time. 🙄
