All Aboard!……My Actifit Report Card: January 19 2026

All aboard! When you’re at Boulevard Park, as we were on Saturday, you always stand the chance of a close encounter with a train! If you’re like me, these encounters are an adrenaline rush. 😁 We’ve always enjoyed trains and have been hooked on them so much so, that once upon a time, we owned a model railroad store that sold N scale, HO scale, 027 (Lionel) scale and G scale-the bigger garden railway type trains.

Anyway, Saturday gave us twice the opportunity for trains. The first one was just as we were approaching the pedestrian crossing at the tracks. We crossed and waited for the train as you could hear it coming!

As you can see, you are literally right there! It is a full body experience with the sound and feeling the rumble of the train as the cars go by! We just love it!

Here’s the second go round however we weren’t quite as close to it as the first.

There’s only one other thing I like to see when it comes to trains besides a diesel train! It would be…….

…you guessed it-live steam! We had an opportunity this past summer to ride the Snoqualmie Train. It was a lot of fun with breathtaking views along the way!

We’ve ridden the Toltec train in Chama, New Mexico back when we lived in Colorado. We worked our way up to the front deck of the first passenger car directly behind the tender. It was smokey, full of cinders and lovely indeed! Someday, I’d like to revisit that train ride again. 🛤️🚂

Today was spent running a couple of quick errands and doing stuff around the house.

One of these days, when I am healthy enough I'd love to ride the Snoqualmie train.
I'll wear something more period appropriate.

Thank you for your kind words! I do love trains; someday, I'd like to run a full size live steam train. I have run live steam in a scaled down model; big enough to ride but small in comparison. I guess that's one for the bucket list!

It was a lot of fun with breathtaking views along the way!

I remember taking the train from NYC to Virginia, and the other time was from Rome to Naples on my way to Capri. I enjoy it very much and the never-ending views!
