Happy Caturday! 😸…….My Actifit Report Card: December 13 2025
Happy Caturday everyone-from Cyle and…….
…..Cot! Such cuties they are!
The cleanup continues for the residents of Everson, Nooksack and Sumas. Driving through on the way to Bellingham, you can see the mud and the silt on the roads and the sidewalks. You can see debris deposited by the swift currents pile up at telephone poles, fire hydrants, blueberry fields-it’s crazy! At the blueberry field where the river floods just before Everson, I saw a tall tree trunk bare of limbs lying close to the street! It’s almost surreal! It will take many months if not several years for recovery.
We were headed to Bellingham to grab a few necessities as well as a couple additional Christmas items. They are calling for another atmospheric river storm for Sunday-Thursday. IF that comes to pass, I fear what it means for these already water logged towns. 😔 Let’s pray it does not come! 🙏
I used to work for the Bellingham Walmart and consequently despite it being a long time ago, still know some of the folks I used to work with. I spoke to Aileen who was busy stocking and agreed to pose for me. She was decked out for Christmas as it was ‘shop with a cop’ day at the store. That’s where policemen ‘adopt’ for a period of time, a less fortunate child, and take them Christmas shopping! I remember those days-they were loud, full of joy, chaos and a memorable time for the kids.
Upon heading towards the checkout, we encountered Cheryl, who after 30 years, is finally going to retire on Christmas Eve! She ALWAYS dresses for the season!
Once we had what we needed, we went to Lynden to the Lynden grocery outlet store, as they have interesting things besides groceries there. We need something extra for our oldest son who is difficult to shop for. We struck out, but as we were leaving, I noticed some very sturdy Christmas boxes. There was one big enough to house the doll I made for our granddaughter, so I grabbed it and headed back in to pay. Along the way, I found some Christmas cards and picked 3 of them out too! On the way out, ran into a longtime friend Jim Chatterton, who we started out some 25 years ago, doing music at church. I remember when @silvertop sliced his hand one Saturday morning, I called Jim who agreed to play guitar for me since @silvertop couldn’t. He’d had no practice with the music except the morning of. He’s very good! We were thankful for his willingness to help us out!
On the way back to the car, I spotted the PPG again! There was only one this time, but he was low enough, I could see him swinging his feet in the air!
He was heading toward Everson for a bird’s eye view of the flood area.
Oh-I almost forgot! While in Walmart, Santa was not at home! Darn, I could have given him my list! 🎅
On the way home from Lynden, we were finally able to access the Hampton Road. Last night it was closed, but today, not-although wet and covered in mud and silt from the flood. The water is receding, but it seems slower this time.
On another note, last night, I had a helper while on the computer. She just landed and hung out. I’m not sure where she came from.
I guess that’s gonna be it for now. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

NKJV 2 Peter 3:3-13
-knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
The Day of the Lord
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

It is nice to have a log burner to chill out with in the cold and wet evenings, they are regulating log burners and stoves in the UK. I personally think this is so they can force people to get rid of theirs and buy their over priced gas instead.

@elizabethbit have the best day.
