Down By The River…………My Actifit Report Card: November 3 2025

The morning began with coffee! Such good stuff! Then my phone rang-granddaughter Olivia was calling! She’s so darn cute and drooling! Seems she’s already working on 2 teeth at the ripe old age of 2 1/2 months! Actually, she’s been working on it since she had just turned 2 months old. I’d show a pic but in keeping with our son’s wishes-no pics online. 😇

Early afternoon saw us headed to Lynden for a couple of errands. On the way home, we thought we’d stop of down by the river to see if we could get to it.

The regular area we normally access it from was heavily laden with mud! It took a bit of picking our way along the shore, but did find access.

I checked the USGS Website and it showed the level down to 75.48 feet. During the weekend, it missed the flood stage by 1.5’! It crested at 81.5’.

If you look at the picture where the circle is, it shows debris that got hung up on the plant. That’s about 4.5’ of water at that point which was a bit away from the shore. We saw evidence where water made it just up into the park itself.

The huge tree balanced on less that 1” of another’s branch! The force of nature is amazing!

This next one reminds me of a nose!

Despite the gloomy day, it was a nice adventure!

You had a heartwarming morning, nice!

Then you took awesome pics from "Down By The River"; thanks so much for sharing the beauty of nature with us!

I'm reminded of one of my favorite long songs running over 9 minutes by Neil Young. One of the Ten Commandments (the first listing of them, interestingly there is a second different list of 10 commandments later in Exodus) is broken. Still, I really like the song structure and guitar work in it.
