Rubber Ducky-You’re So Fine! …………My Actifit Report Card: September 1 2025

Yes indeedy-rubber ducky is so fine!

Mid afternoon, we went for a hike to view the additional devastation the logging company accomplished last week. It took us down the long driveway of a neighbor that starts at the beginning of the land affected. We were surprised to learn the driveway is in fact a state easement and that it appears the logging company now owns the land on both sides of it. Their driveway used to be serene and forested thickly on both sides, but not anymore.

They’ve pushed a couple of new logging roads and wiped out the other 40 acres of land.

You can see where they’ve cut through the hillsides to put the road in and uncovered part of the monolithic ridge of sandstone that runs clear down to our property and beyond.

Honestly, I can see future home sites in the way the roads have been laid. I suspect they not only will gross a ton off of the timber but from the sale of these now “improvements “ as well. It will raise our property taxes I’m sure. The only good thing is that they will also lose money due to inflation, but it won’t affect them as much as it does the little guys.

Prior to the hike, I spent my morning roasting six pounds of coffee for a customer. Then……I spent a frustrating hour of trying to get my printer back online. Since the change to Star-Link, a few things got forgotten by the router networks I have going. It’s been frustrating, but today finally saw success! It’s back online! 😎

Then, I had to call T-Mobile as there was an issue of them changing my credit card for internet services we didn’t stay with. Fortunately despite it being the Labor Day holiday, they had customer service representatives available. She was able to take care of the problem for me.

Then after the hike, we ran to Lynden for a coffee date and a trip to the Dollar Tree+ store for some plastic baskets for laundry products organizing. Then, on the way home, I found my very first pumpkin 🎃 stand of the season! Of course, I got a pumpkin-a good sized one for $3.00! I’ll post about it tomorrow.
