Let It Ride!…….My Actifit Report Card: August 12 2025

At the fair, there are all kinds of things to ride! The train wasn’t a ride, but it was pretty cool!

There were lots more, but in all honesty, I’d probably not ride them simply because they are put up and taken down so many times that safety could be a concern. I’m sure there are standards, however all it would take is one person to take a shortcut….. With the velocity of some of them-well it wouldn’t be pretty!

Now these are my kind of rides!

I would love the chance to ride and/or drive one of those! Being a rural area, there are lots of draft horses around. Some loggers actually will use them to log in certain areas.

Today was hot!🥵. This picture was taken at around 6:45 PM on the porch in the shade.

If you read @silvertop’s post yesterday, you would have read about our new Star-Link set up. We discovered last night that the standard kit is now on sale at 50% off. We paid $349.00. So with receipt in hand, we went back to Best Buy to get a price match. They refused because Star-Link, the manufacturer, was not on their list of acceptable retailers. So, we left a bit unhappy and went to Walmart. We sat in the parking lot for a bit, despite the heat and discovered this…..

So, we turned around as Home Depot WAS on their list. We got a different cashier than the first time and he was more than willing to help. The first manager was a bit of a ‘not so nice in attitude’ guy. Our new cashier had problems and called for management to help with the transaction. Turns out the reason he was having problems was that this kit was also on sale there for half off! Why the first guy didn’t say anything, I just don’t know or understand! Long and short of it- we got $190.80 BACK! We were super happy! 😁👍

It averages around 250 mbps compared to our old Ziply Of 21 Mbps-no contest! Star-Link wins!!

Tomorrow is the start of the workweek. I have a fill in doc as ours is on vacation right now. Should be a good day. We are probably heading to our son’s on Friday, so my most recent coworker will have the clinic unless she’s not available. Worst case-I close it down Friday.
