Is It Fall-Yet?……….My Actifit Report Card: July 29 2025
Is it fall yet? With the ripening of fruit and the springing up of roadside garden stands appearing, I can’t help but long for fall! It is my favorite time of year! I know, I know-we’ve got July and August to get through yet, and honestly, September can feel more like summer on into October at times, but a girl can dream-can’t she?! The only thing that could ‘lighten up’ during the fall season is the onslaught of rains that usually accompany it. I don’t mind rain-just not days and days and days of it!
The crisper and cooler temps along with the smell of wood smoke in the air is just lovely! Ahh, the sights and smells of the fall season!
These first two pictures are from today’s hike. That’s what’s got me thinking on fall, plus it’s hot today and I don’t like it! 🥵
My day began with ladies Bible study on Psalm 32 and forgiveness. Is there someone in your life you need to forgive? Perhaps even yourself. Definite food for thought! The study was awesome and it looks like it will carry on for at least a couple more weeks.
Despite the heat, we did go for a hike up to the lumber mill area before the last BIG hill to the off grid cabin. Jan came with. We got spooked on the way back down as there was a sound from the brush that I would identify as a bear. We didn’t hang around to find out! 😳
I went back in my photo archives looking for fall. I found it! Enjoy!
This picture was taken through the lens of my Maui Jim Maui rose sunglasses. They intensify the colors.
While making coffee after the hike, notice the watch alert in the upper end of the picture.
Tsunami watch? For here? Seriously?! For those who don’t know, we live at an elevation of about 500’ above sea level. The bays here are in the Puget Sound protected area and are 10 miles out from where Nooksack is located. I could better see the watch for the towns of Bellingham, Birch Bay or Blaine, but not Nooksack. Since I took the screenshot, I’ve gotten two more alerts. There was an 8.0-8.7 earthquake off the eastern coast of Russia, 80 miles out, so there is a real threat for the possibility of a tsunami for areas east of that and the west coast. My prayer is it just doesn’t happen anywhere that it might could. Anyway, it’s the first tsunami watch we’ve had in 25 years of living here.
Here is one last lovely fall picture.
That’s it for today. Tomorrow begins my workweek. Once this week is done, next week has one day with appointments and the doc is on vacation for about 2.5 weeks. Time to get some projects done! 😎
Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

NKJV Psalm 32
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones grew old
Through my groaning all the day long.
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
My vitality was turned into the drought of summer.
Selah
I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.
Selah
For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You
In a time when You may be found;
Surely in a flood of great waters
They shall not come near him.
You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.
Selah
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
Do not be like the horse or like the mule,
Which have no understanding,
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
Else they will not come near you.
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.
Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
