Rain, Rain, Go Away ☔️☔️☔️……My Actifit Report Card: May 17 2025

Happy Caturday everybody! 😻

It was a seriously rainy day here in the Pacific Northwest! When we woke up, you could hear the pitter patter of the rain hitting the skylight. As the morning progressed, it became apparent it was not letting up anytime soon. We decided to become that rare breed of bird-the Mallwalker, and head to the local mall for indoor hiking.

We soon discovered that a lot of other people had the same idea! Couple that with several events taking place in the mall-it became a very busy place. There were a couple of musical gigs going on. This guy was a one man show.

Sporting on of the best guitars in the industry, a Taylor guitar, he had quite the setup. He even had a vocal harmonizer so it seemed he had back up vocals. He did a good job but didn’t draw people like the other one did that was in another part of the mall.

I found a golden goose in a display window of a newly opened tea shop.

I enjoy ironworks, and found this cut out. I’d enjoy having it.

We always walk every wing of the mall when we go, and this time, stumbled on a dwelling unusual to the area.

Apparently Bellingham has a sister city in Mongolia. This is a typical Mongolian dwelling-yurt-like structure. This sign was nearby.

Upon closer inspection, we were able to enter the ‘ger ’, as it’s called. The door was surprisingly pretty.

Oh! Look!👀 Is that a man from Mongolia?

Oh wait-it’s just @silvertop!

My question is this though: just how on earth does the Ger keep you warm in a Mongolian winter?! A neighbor of ours has a Yurt, and although similar to the Ger, I would think it’s not a warm place here in the wintertime! As a matter of fact, there’s a mini split in the local one! It was interesting to see and read about.

After the mall and a stop at Bath&Body Works, we set out for Winco to pick up’s up a few perishables that I needed. When we were done shopping and loading the car, the Raven posed for his picture.

Despite the rain, it’s been a good day!
