A Beautiful Palm Sunday……..My Actifit Report Card: March 24 2024
The morning began at church. The worship was awesome as was Pastor Kyle’s sermon. We enjoyed the time spent at church today.
When we got home, we decided after doing a few things around the house, we’d go earlier for a hike. I texted Jan but no response. So we headed out. It’s been a week since I’d really done any hiking as work and my hip got in the way. The hip thing is really getting old, but it felt the best it has in a while, so we set out. I soon discovered uphill is much better than downhill! Along the way, Jan texted me back and said she’d meet us wherever. She’d had her phone on silence and didn’t realize I’d texted her. I wanted to go up to the top of the High Trail. At this point it was just @silvertop and myself.
Jan did eventually meet up with us as we were on our way back down.
I’ve done a couple of posts about hoof fungus but had not had enough time to peruse up close and personal like. Here’s the top of a really nice specimen.
Here’s the underbelly of the same hoof fungus.
I did a close up of the underbelly and in this next picture, you can see what looks like little hairs. I’ve tried looking up just what they are but to no avail. Check out this pic.
Presuming this parasitic fungus has spores, it would make sense that’s where they come from. Regardless, it’s kind of cool!

what is the difference between fungus and mushrooms?
Thank you @chiuzzu81. A mushroom is like a flower that a fungus produces, but not all fungi will produce mushrooms. There is a documentary out called Fantastic Fungi. I think it can be viewed on YouTube for free. check it out. It's a really good cross section about the fungi in our world.
