It’s Thanksgiving Day here in the States. A time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest, but I feel too, for the many blessings we have. 🙏

It’s been just me and @silvertop today. Our kids had their own thing going on, so I put a rotisserie chicken in my instapot, added some spices and chicken broth and let it simmer all afternoon. Earlier, I’d cut up a sugar pie pumpkin and cooked that to put a pumpkin pie together. Add in some mashed potatoes and gravy, and that will round out our meal. Tomorrow, we’ll have a meal with Michael and Christine.

We headed out for a hike around 1:30. You have to keep track of the time now because you don’t want to get caught in the forest as night falls. Enjoy the eye candy!

Soaring Eagle Trail was created in 2022 by our neighbors. They allow us 24/7 access to their land and the many trails therein. The vistas are stunning. Called Soaring Eagle Trail because the valley often has eagles soaring on the wind currents.

@actifit-lamb wanted to go on a Thanksgiving hike, so she jumped in my daypack to enjoy. At Soaring Eagle Trail; at a good look out point; she climbed out to enjoy the view.

Views like this make me realize just how small we are in the grand scheme of things!

Coming back down, I found all kinds of ‘shrooms! This colony was quite the surprise!

There are enough of these Inky Blacks to probably be a couple of meals! So many!

This one could be a meal by itself!! It was HUGE! 😳

There were many other smaller varieties as well!

This last pic kind of rounds out them all.
