It's Running Again!.........My Actifit Report Card: November 4 2023

It’s running again! 😎 We’ve had such a dry year that the creek out front, even after the fairly good amount of rain we’ve had, was not flowing. 😔 I was beginning to be concerned because it’s never not been flowing by now. That means that the aquifer was exceptionally low as well. There are lots of folks, us included, who depend on the aquifer for household water. We had not noticed any real change in our well but we also have a good well with a good history. We know lots of others on our road who run out every summer. One neighbor put a holding tank in because their well is a slow producer. However today when I went to collect the Amazon delivery, I found it running enough to make bubbly brook water sounds! Finally!

It is also Caturday! So in celebration of that, here’s my two kitty boys!

@silvertop was having his allergies kick in bad today. After taking two Benadryl, he was still pretty miserable. We had planned to switch out my old iPhone 6 S Plus battery as when I’d used it over the past couple of weeks, the battery had begun swelling again. This would be the second replacement we’ve done on this phone. I was able to find a higher power battery replacement, so despite his being miserable, we began. See his post tonight for pics. You really need 4 hands to do this so we worked it together. We ran into a snag when the adhesive wouldn’t pull out. There’s a danger of the battery exploding if punctured, so we were both kind of holding our breath as he pried. Fortunately I found out that putting a few drops of rubbing alcohol on it reduced the adhesive stickiness and the battery came out! Whew!😅 I got the old adhesive out of the back of the phone and we began re-assembly. It’s a tedious process, but the kits are around $20-25 and come with all the tools you need. My backup phone is back with us once again. 😎

After lunch, we decided to head to the mall in Bellingham as it’s been raining all day. We resort to being a ‘mall walker’. @silvertop snapped more pics than I did but I found some really big stuffed animals.

@actifit-lamb would have love the giraffe as she could have saddled him up to go riding!

On the way out through Kohl’s, I took this pic. It seems the new date for the Christmas race is apparently November first, now! This store was really decorated to the hilt for Christmas from floor to ceiling! This is only a little bit of what it all looked like.

We headed up to Lynden to my favorite Starbucks for coffees. I went in to order while @silvertop took a mini excursion over to some old cars nearby. I was going to split a piece of their pumpkin bread with him, but the barista offered me a slice of free gingerbread bread. So he got that and I kept the pumpkin bread! I like free! 😁☕️

Other than a little purchase at Bath & Body Works, we didn’t do any shopping other than window shopping. The allergies are better and we’re home now enjoying the evening and a fire in the wood stove.
