How's This Possible?........My Actifit Report Card: October 22 2023

The day started slow as I just couldn’t get up this morning. I guess I needed the sleep. We took a dunk in the hot tub. It’s nice to sit in it outside with the cooler temps, the colorful leaves and the birdsong.
Afterwards, I started a project of getting rid of some stuff that was hanging around in the kitchen. @silvertop called me outside as he’d found the most colorful’shroom!
I’ve not seen a totally red ‘shroom like this before. They weren’t very big-about an inch across. Not edible I’m sure!
Going back to the first photo; this baby Big Leaf Maple had all green leaves as you can see from the photo except for those two-two toned leaves, which are very interesting unto themselves. How can this be that 90% of the tree is still green and those two leaves-how did that color change come about? It’s not like it was just the edges or just the center of it. Very interesting. 🧐
I had suggested we hike the super long drive up to Keith and Lynne’s house as they are vacationing and we always check on their house when they’re gone. It’s quite the driveway!

@actifit-lamb wanted to come, so she rode in my daypack until we got up to the house. Then I could barely keep up with her! First, she wanted to split some firewood.
Then, she wanted to check out the rock wall.
Finally, she settled on a big boulder for a little while before it was time to head back.

Again, enjoying the lovely shots you take in your area. Living in a typical residential suburb is comparatively boring with house after house broken up by the odd tiny manicured park with a sports field.
