And We're Off!........My Actifit Report Card: August 14 2023
And we’re off!- to the Northwest Washington Fair! Yes, today was the day and @actifit-lamb was ever so excited to go to her first fair!
We got there about 10 AM and it was already setting up to be a scorcher!😅 We headed to the goat barn first and was surprised to see no lambs or sheep there. @actifit-lamb was disappointed but we trudged on. Here’s some flowers at the back entrance that we entered at.
We stopped at the grandstand to watch several horse shows and imagine @actifit-lamb’s excitement when the announcer mention mutton busters! Here, she eagerly watches.
She’d never seen a chicken like this! Looks like a bad hair day, lol!
Or, a chicken whose breed name is the same as the doggie who’s staying with us- Phoenix breed. Just look at those tail feathers!
Here, we took a mocha frappe break. Boy, did we need it by then! Temperatures were rising! 😅
We saw a cotton candy chicken with lips!
We spent about 5 hours at the fair; the temperatures were rising and the crowds we’re gathering. We decided to call it a day. @actifit-lamb was disappointed that she never got to see the other lambs up close, but she was soon jumping for joy, as on our way out, guess what we found?
She was very happy! After getting back to the car, we decided mom and dad both needed another mocha frappe, so we headed over to the Woods Coffee drive through. We could hear the snores coming from the back seat as @actifit-lamb was zonked!
And so, this concludes part one of fair day. Stay tuned for tomorrow will bring part two! 🐑🐑🐑

Over on this side of the border, the PNE will be gearing up for another fair. I haven't made any plans to go yet. And that chicken might be there too. Stay cool.

I detest 90+ degrees and high humidity! I remember when we moved here some 23 years ago; we were told that you don't need AC in the Northwest! I beg to differ back then and especially now!
I don't do so well in the heat. Just as we were leaving the fair yesterday, I was nauseated from it. It was time to go.
Try to stay cool my friend from the North! Hopefully, this will break soon. Take care!
I already have my retirement getaway planned. 56 acres in the trees a couple hours south of the Alaska Panhandle. It can get warm there but being near a lake and under the trees does wonders to keep the temperature down.
As for staying cool...working on that :) You stay cool too!
