A Celebration...........My Actifit Report Card: June 10 2023
A celebration……….of life! This one’s for you, Joan! 💜
Today was the celebration of life picnic for our friend and neighbor, Joan. In the above picture, she’s the sweet lady all the way to the left. The other jokesters are Jan, @silvertop and myself. This photo was taken back in early March of 2020, just before Covid had become a reality. We were all so happy in this impromptu group photo!
Today’s event was up at Silver Lake, a Whatcom county park. As luck would have it, what should have been a lovely sunshiny day, had turned into what us locals call ‘June-uary’. June on the calendar but with January weather! Of course it not only was barely hitting the mid 50’s, it was raining as well. None of that dampened the spirits though of all who came to celebrate!
There was quite the attendance from our road including Keith and Lynne, who are talented musicians. Keith plays guitar and Lynne, the upright bass.
There was an area where the family had put all of the scarves Joan wore (and there were many) and we were asked to take one in remembrance of Joan. I did! 🥰
This was where it was held in the park.
Joan belonged to the local ukulele group who came to perform her favorite songs.
The celebration was to last all afternoon. After a couple of hours, @silvertop and myself headed away from it to investigate the park. It had been about 15+ years since we were last here.
It is a very beautiful place!
It was a lovely memorial celebration of Joan’s life. She will be always missed!

It was a lovely time! She was the first of 3 neighbors who have passed within the past 6 months. We have another celebration of life/road party this coming Saturday. They say things come in 3's , so we should be good for a bit I would hope. It's hard to believe they are gone.

It was a lovely time! There were the children; some grandchildren; a family dog she babysat; even a coworker of Joan's husband, Mike, from many many years ago. It was a great delayed celebration for sure and it's what she wanted!🤗😘💕🌹 !LUV
