Ahhhhhhh, Spring!........My Actifit Report Card: May 9 2023

Ahhhhh, spring!

The day dawned beautifully sunny 🌞 and glorious. It felt a bit cool without a very light jacket and yet a bit warm with one! We had a mission this morning after @silvertop got done with some online activities.

Yesterday, when we took a road hike to view the farm stand, we continued on out to a main artery that takes you to town. Before getting to that intersection, as we were hiking, I noticed a columbine growing precariously on the side of the road. It probably wouldn’t survive the summer with traffic, road rock chipping or the lawnmower man! Next to digitalis, columbines are a favorite wildflower. I mentioned last night to @silvertop, that maybe we should save it from certain death. Besides, it would be a free Mother’s Day gift for me! 😁 So we headed to the spot via the car as I had to watch for traffic. It was on a dip in the road and was a bit of a dangerous spot. We got it home safe and sound. Here’s the finished product.

I’m kind of curious as to the color it will bloom. I can talk myself into seeing two possible colors being in the bloom; maybe a tinge of purple with white? We should know in 2-4 days as it will bloom soon.

Since we didn’t get to the regular grocery over the weekend, we decided to go today since the balance of the week would see me busy with work. It also afforded the opportunity to get the gallon of stain we’d selected from the sample cans purchased over the weekend, for @silvertop.

Once home, we took a quickie hike up towards the garden. Here’s some eye candy from the day.

The very first picture of this post is from our Bloodgood Japanese Maple tree. This one is from the “Benny-ha-ha” tree. I cat remember the true name of this Japanese maple tree but know it begins with benny-something.

We were almost home. There’s a profusion of dandelions alongside the road. I was observing them and saw this. I quickly grabbed my phone and took the pic!

That’s gonna be it for now. Tomorrow begins my workweek. Hopefully, it will fly!
