It's May!.......My Actifit Report Card: May 1 2023
It’s May! How did that happen?!
I spent my morning and early afternoon doing housework and calling around for a master/slave cylinder clutch assembly for the truck. According to everything @silvertop had read, it was a factory sealed assembly-no way to bleed it, yet all aftermarket parts were calling for two separate parts. I called about 9 parts dealers, 3 dealerships, one online store and Dorman parts, who manufacture these things. All were coming up with the same answer: not available. Not good! Once I gave that death verdict to @silvertop, he wasn’t too happy. The truck is a 1990 Dodge Dakota has about 160,000 original miles we put one it. Lots of life left in her and it was amazing that a silly part was going to be her ticket to the junk yard!
So, I called a local auto repair place and explained to him the situation. He gave an estimate of $325 but not able to do it until June. She’s on the books and even if it costs more than that, it’s worth it as you can’t buy a truck nowadays for that cheap.
I’m glad to leave it to someone else to repair for once! 😅
We headed out late afternoon for a hike, and wouldn’t you know it-it began to rain! I saved this little guy from certain excruciating squishy death!
He is 6 years old.
On the way back down from the hike, we stopped at Tessa and David’s for their annual May Day celebration. They throw a little neighborhood party each year with some finger foods and this year, nettle tea. I’d not had it before and it was pretty tasty. She also served Dolmas- grape leaves filled with spiced rice and stored in olive oil and a touch of vinegar. Very tasty! They don’t like pictures taken so we respect that.
Oh! I took delivery of my tomato cages. Here they are installed.
That’s gonna be it for now. Take care and enjoy your evening wherever you are. Please continue to pray for 🇺🇦
