First Day Of The Year........My Actifit Report Card: January 1 2023
Happy New Year 2023!
Welcome to the new year and my post for today.
Yes, it’s January 1st, and hard for me to believe we’ve said goodbye to 2022. Time flies much too quickly anymore!
This morning found us going to church a little earlier than usual to get the sound equipment up and running for the service. Suffice it to say, it’s been a long journey from when we tore it down in late 2021 because of the flood; waiting for the church to finish being the community help center, restoration work and then months of waiting on the electrician to install the necessary lines we needed. We began re-installing it this fall, but often we’re waylaid by events at the church. Then the holidays came and along with it, grand dog sitting, two bouts of sickness, one for each of us and then snow storms and ice storms-well you can see how it just wasn’t happening. Yesterday, we got it working, although there are still some connectivity issues and tying up of the final cables used and some cosmetic coverings in the sanctuary yet to happen. We are meeting a guy tomorrow referencing the projector and/or camera. It hasn’t been a straightforward project by any means. 🙄
That brings us to this afternoon. We met Jan for the first hike of the year. I’ve been experiencing some hip joint issues since I got in the car yesterday, which makes it painful to walk. That being said, I was hoping a hike might help. It did to a point but then you stop and sit for a bit when you’re finished, and let’s just say it ain’t fixed yet! 😔
The first picture of this post is up by the pond just as you get close to the trailhead.
Nonetheless, despite the hip thing, it was nice to get out and get back in some fresh air and nature. I’m looking forward to a hike soon to Towhee Ridge and/or Soaring Eagle in the near future. It seems like forever since we’ve gone there.

Thank you @tydynrain! It has been an adventure. We originally installed this back in August of 2019 and with the flooding, it hasn't been used since then until this past Sunday. It was in effect, a completely new install done differently than the first time we did it. Keeps us on our toes!
My hip is improving; another mystery ailment of mine. They just come out of the blue without provocation and often I have no idea how it happened. Thanks for mentioning the stretches.

While I haven't installed sound systems like that I am a tech geek too, so I've dealt with many situations like that, and I definitely understand what you mean there about it keeping you on your toes!
