My Actifit Report Card: November 8 2021
Hi everybody and thanks for stopping by!
There’s snow on them thar hills!
We set out this afternoon for a hike with glorious sunshine, but as you can see in the picture, it was all but gone within the hour. I decided today to push a little further to Towhee Ridge. That’s the view from there.
Backs are a funny thing and too little activity can set you back as well as too much activity. So the question is, just what is too little or too much? There’s a fine line in the answer. I got as far as the bench at the beginning of Bear Hollow and stopped to pay attention to what my back was saying and try to discern whether to call it good or push on. One thing different today was that I had a backpack with 3 lambs on board. The backpack has an added frame to keep it spaced out from my back that does add a bit of weight to it. I decided to go on and the goal was Towhee Ridge.
Once we arrived, I set about unpacking the mini gang that was with me. @actifit-lamb was chomping at the bit to get out and run! Winchester and Walter accompanied her.
As you can see, they’ve put their coats on as it’s beginning to get chilly. They were scampering through trees, over rocks and logs! It was all I could do to get them to sit on top the whiskey barrel long enough to get pictures, lol! I think they’ve been cooped up too long indoors! 🙀
Soon enough, it was time to go. @silvertop had left to continue on Slumbering Bear trail, but soon after he’d left me and Jan, he came back. Turns out that a guy who purchased some land bordering Keith and Lynne’s land was on sight and none too happy. He didn’t see @silvertop, but he was cursing a blue streak at no one in particular. It didn’t set well with him knowing Jan and I were alone and not too far away, so he came back and we headed home a way that kept our distance from him. We felt it was better to be safe than sorry. We really don’t know him and it left an odd feeling.
After we got home I fixed coffees for us and we enjoyed an almond biscotti with dark chocolate. Yum!😋

Just curious, you made/sew them yourself? They are so so adorable! Are they Actifit merchandise?
No; the story goes that one Easter in my local grocer, I saw this lamb sitting on the refrigerator case at the check out. I collect lambs and picked her up; but put her back. A few weeks went by and she was still there, but one day, she was on sale! So I bought her. She is a Kinder brand lamb. I got a t-shirt and painted the logo on it, and named her @actifit-lamb. She has her own posts she does. Anyway, through various outlets, I found 6 other lambs and then one mysteriously arrived via postal service. Check out @actifit-lamb's blog and read the whole story. She doesn't post very often, and it's time soon for another one of her adventures. I have many accessories for her and the gang. It's a bit out of control, but fun. Wow, snow indeed. That's a harbinger of things to come. The lambs wearing coats is just way too cute!
So scary about the guy grousing about seeing you and Jan. (You never know what people might be packing, and what they might do if really angry!) Were you actually on his property? Or do you think he's just a crazy hermit that can't stand the sight of anyone near his place?
Hey @jayna! No, he didn't see us; Mike ran into him, but the guy didn't see Mike. Mike was afraid to leave us so close and alone with this guy about 100 feet from us (the forest is thick and we didn't see or hear him) so Mike turned around and came to where we were to get us out of there before he showed up. He was on Keith and Lynne's land at that point; they invited him to walk the trails, just like we do, but we don't really know him. They don't either. We aren't sure of the source of his anger but figured to leave was the best choice and avoid him. I hate to think that we are going to have to watch out and dodge him. We've been hiking these trails for 5 years! Thanks for asking my friend and have a lovely night!

Yeah, we aren't quite sure about him at all. I guess we've been spoiled with having the trails all to ourselves. His land borders theirs and he seems to be concentrating on 'working' on the border by the Slumbering Bear Trail. Even today, Mike said he was working again and yelling loud enough for him to hear. Kind of odd for sure. Take care sis!

He is a bit different; Keith has had to talk to him 3 times about no bikes or dogs on the trails. He wants to build a mountain bike trail that runs parallel to theirs, but doesn't seem to understand that's their property and they don't want that. It's unfortunate that our peaceful hiking trail might be in jeopardy. Time will tell. Take care sis!
