It was me
Just me
Not the nightmares born in
Shadowed corners
Never touched by light
Or the monsters
Just out of your eyesight
Or the ghosts
Of things
Buried alive
No
Nothing nearly
So scary
Outrageous
Outlandish
Alarming
Extreme
Or extraordinary
Nope
Just someone
Very ordinary
It was only me
Really
Only me

I went more abstract with the image for this poem because I'm leaving it open to interpretation. Normally I would use this space here to talk about what inspired the poem but maybe I should leave that up to the imagination of the reader every once in a while.
