IND vs AUS match in the ICC World Cup 2023 with Jadeja

India started their World Cup campaign with a thrilling six-wicket win over Australia in Chennai on Sunday. The hosts chased down a modest target of 200 with 52 balls to spare, thanks to a brilliant unbeaten 97 by KL Rahul, who was named the Player of the Match. Rahul shared a crucial 186-run stand with Virat Kohli, who scored 85, after India lost four early wickets for 15 runs.

The match was also marked by the return of Ravindra Jadeja, who had missed the previous series against England due to a thumb injury. Jadeja made an immediate impact with both ball and field, as he picked up three key wickets and effected a stunning run-out. Jadeja dismissed Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne and Alex Carey in quick succession to derail Australia’s innings. He also ran out Glenn Maxwell with a direct hit from backward point, leaving Australia reeling at 140 for 6.

Jadeja’s performance earned him praise from fans and experts alike, who hailed him as one of the best all-rounders in the world. Jadeja has been a vital cog in India’s limited-overs setup, especially in home conditions, where he can exploit the spin-friendly pitches. He also adds depth to the batting order and is a livewire on the field. Jadeja has played 172 ODIs for India, scoring 2411 runs at an average of 32.15 and taking 188 wickets at an economy of 4.88.
