How often do you write? Stop showing your writer’s block cards, do this instead!

Source
Did you know that the claims of having writer’s block are an excuse for not doing your work? Yes, you cannot have your blog on the platform up and running effectively, if you keep coming up with excuses. You need, no, you have to put in the work.

Relying on those moments when your creative mind begins to work will make your blog starve from lack of content. It will also be difficult to build an audience or become an authority if there is no consistency on your part.

Creative writings do not come with effortless inspirations alone, you have to nurture them. Go ahead and introduce a system that allows magic to happen whenever the spark isn’t there.

Stop pulling your writer’s block card and dive into your genius self every time you need it by doing all of the following;

Develop a memory Muscle

Have you ever heard that creativity is a muscle? Well, it is. You have to stretch this creativity muscle by setting up a time in the day that you write. Most people are creative in the morning, others at lunch, and some during dinners.

Source
There are also people who are creative when they just finish seeing a thought-provoking movie. Then, there are those who tune into their creative minds while listening to a song, a podcast, or during conversations.

In this regard, always tune in to these times, and let our brain know that once that happens, it is time for business. Once you stretch your memory muscles in this manner, you will be surprised at the tons of content you will be able to churn out every day.

Set and meet deadlines

Source
Learn to set deadlines, it makes you accountable to yourself. Do well to treat deadlines as important, and try not to make any excuses.

Free write often

For this exercise, set a timer, and write until it stops. As you do this often, you will begin to write past the timer, and that is a good thing.

Be sure to change venues every now and then

Do not be caught sitting at the same place every day to write. It mars creativity. Once in a while, find a new place to write, so your brain can be tricked to do better. It could an open field, a nature park, a coffee shop, your garden, etc.

Edit Later

Initially, you do not have to be perfect as you write. Just keep writing everything as they flow. Then leave it and return to it for editing. When you try to correct phrases, and sentences as you write, it will slow you down. And you may likely forget those beautiful ideas your brain was generating.

Give yourself and your brain a break

Source
Did you see the way your voting power works? If you overwork it, it drains, and the value diminishes. The same thing happens with your brain. It is best that you do not wear it out. Give it a break by going for a walk, sitting out, reading a book, exercising, etc. It will make your work seem effortless.

How often do you write? Do you think you have enough brain to beat your writer’s block at its game? Let me know in the comment box

Lol. I don't know why I am laughing but I do know sometimes I am just too lazy to start writing even when I have tons of things to write about.
The biggest problem I have is just starting and I will be amazed by the content I am able to put up after stretching my mind for that period.

You know you are also right, we keep making up excuses when the real truth is that we are just lazy.
I also noticed that trying to edit my articles while in the writing process slows me down and most times makes me forget my lines so i stopped editing while writing. I rather focus on the flow and then edit my messes later on.
Some great tips for some lazy bones like me out there ;)🤭😁

Sweetie, surely, I can relate. You have a lot of things you can write about but laziness won't let you put it down on paper. It happens to me often. But this month I will surely beat it at its games....hehhehheee

The biggest problem I have is just starting and I will be amazed by the content I am able to put up after stretching my mind for that period.

Well, not having access to a power supply often has made me realized just how much content I can write if I put my mind to it. These days, if I don't want to get bore, I start cracking my brain by writing anything. It is always turning into a piece, and I am always very happy

You know you are also right, we keep making up excuses when the real truth is that we are just lazy.

I am so glad you agree...lol

I also noticed that trying to edit my articles while in the writing process slows me down and most times makes me forget my lines so i stopped editing while writing.

And to this too.

I rather focus on the flow and then edit my messes later on.

Heheheer.....good choice, baby

Some great tips for some lazy bones like me out there ;)🤭😁

You are welcome, lazy bones..lol

Wow, Your points in this post are inspiring. I often lost the moment when I found an idea. You are right.

Do not be caught sitting at the same place every day to write.

When I sit on my chair with my laptop. I have no words to write. That situation takes place very often. What then I do? I open my twitter and read some tweets about fucking politic issues. I feel tired with no words to write.

I am glad that you can relate to the writing space experience

But I know someone who gets inspired by reading news or events on Twitter as you do and then comes up with interesting and captivating contents

I am wondering since your mind and brain relax when you are going news feed on Twitter, why don't you try to work it out in the manner my friend does as well

It will surprise you if you do, I am very sure of it

I know that I should read and edit my posts more than I do. But I am always running out of time. Often real live is calling me back.

I do like the posts I do write on Saturday morning with a cup of coffee and the rest of the family still in bed! These are more or less my free write posts!

I used to be mad when I didn’t write a post a day, now I do care less. If there isn’t anything good to write, then I just post nothing.

Cheers,
Peter

I found writing with snacks is kinda distracting though. People believe it's nice, but having something sweet in my mouth detaches my brain from the work in front. I get stuck making every bite worth it, lol, I forget I was writing.

Same goes to any drink at all.

If I listen to music while tryna read or write! I end up sleeping so badly. When I wake up, I must have forgotten what I wanted to write about.

hahhahahahhahahaaa......this is both funny and crazy, in-law.

For biscuits gimme some and I will still write more and even draw the biscuits too lol.

Oh, my! She loves biscuits too. I should buy you a carton, so you can write a lot of things and probably draw them too....lol

hahhahhahhahaa

you and this your brain that always wants to work with every part of your body.hahhahhaha

We use snack as a means of encouragement, and inspiration. I feel more like this act is a bait(an incentive) for our brain to work effectively, when it is proving stubborn...lol

I know that I should read and edit my posts more than I do. But I am always running out of time. Often real life is calling me back.

I can fully relate to this. And I apologize on behalf of life itself.

I do like the posts I do write on Saturday morning with a cup of coffee and the rest of the family still in bed! These are more or less my free write posts!

Oh, this is great news. Someone has been flexing with free writes before now. I am quite impressed. I wish every day was almost Saturday for you then. so you can do as much free write as you want...lol. But wishes are not horses, you know...smiles.

I used to be mad when I didn’t write a post a day, now I do care less. If there isn’t anything good to write, then I just post nothing.

Oh shit! Why were you so hard on yourself? Oh, I think I know the answer, @fullcoverbetting, you were missing out on the rewards, the engagements and the fun, right? or maybe not!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experience with writer's block, sir, I appreciate this.

Back in those days it was missing out on the rewards. Didn't care so much about engagement :(. But times do change people. It is not that I don't care about the rewards anymore, but I do appreciate a genuine comment more than an upvote. Prefer to write a $2 post with lots of interaction, in contrast to a $10 post without any comment.

Hahahhahhaha.... I understand this. And I am jumping for joy for being correct to an extent......hahhahahhaha

You are absolutely right. The feeling of knowing people in this space, read your post, understood you, and displayed it in the form of comments and interactions is out of this world.

Cheers

I think expecting to be perfect is a big block for many writers. Sure, the first draft may not be good enough for publication but I think usually after one edit, we have something worthy of putting out there.

I write maybe once or twice a week now. It's not really a block that's stopping me but just not having that much to say. :)

I feel you though.

I don't see anything fit my attention these days... Yesterday I was gonna write about my recent experience, then I was like "who cares" and that's how I've ended up not writing again.

Lol, it happens that most times, I don't think I have to say anything.

But no doubts, I know deep down I'll still reflect on that experience.

Hey honey, don't be too hard on yourself

A lot of folks have suffered worst and they are still alive and kicking

if you don't feel like writing about it now, give it time, soon, your ink will be flowing with everything that happened.

The first draft is fine, but if your instinct says there should be another draft, I guess, you should adhere to it....what do you think?

I write maybe once or twice a week now. It's not really a block that's stopping me but just not having that much to say. :)

Nothing having much to say? I think I have a cure for that....do I? Yes. Read a lot. You cannot write if you don't read.

Relying on those moments when your creative mind begins to work will make your blog starve from lack of content. It will also be difficult to build an audience or become an authority if there is no consistency on your part.

True!

In fact, everything written here is facts! Kinda just thought of one I may be guilty of and that's always staying in the same environment to write.

I have this nature that I can't do a thing outside my personal space (my room) and it's really eating deep though.

If am perhaps outside, I won't be able to write nor even read, for real. But once I crash in, I feel restored again.

Maybe there's a logical explanation for that.

Idiot!!!.......ahahhahahahha

there is only one logical explanation for that

and that is you like isolation too much, and it is not good for your bloody life......hhahahhahahha

I can relate to this particular one you know.
I'm fond of writing and going back to do some editing. I have so many documents on my doc app where I type so many things down and go back to it later to do some corrections where needed, even though I'm always reluctant to post them.

Did you see the way your voting power works? If you overwork it, it drains, and the value diminishes. The same thing happens with your brain. It is best that you do not wear it out. As for my brain! I don't joke with it . I figured out that when I stress it too much I always end up with a headache. So it does deserve a break. But come to think of it! Does the brain really rest at all??
But then, the steps to being a great writer as stated here was really helpful thanks @edystringz.

Please, don't keep them in your doc, anymore. send them into space, let them make magic for you, darling. You would not know what will happen until you do.

Thank God you know this, and you have always applied it. I am proud of you.

Did you just ask me? My friend, I have no idea....ask someone who knows....hahhahhahaa
