Turning Hive Rewards into Real Investments: Week 2

Joining Hive was a way to share my thoughts and connect with people until I realized something else.

Hive is an ecosystem on its own. It's a community for everyone irrespective of background and lastly a source of capital.

Last week, I started a new journey which is to turn my Hive earnings into real-world investments.

It is a simple but powerful goal:

• Convert my HBD rewards into naira
• Invest them in mutual funds and stocks
• Share the results weekly in a transparent way.

I hope this will inspire others.

This is the second week of that journey and as promised, I will let you know how it's going.

The First Investment

Thanks to a kind gesture from @terganftp who inspired me to start, I started with 5 HBD, which is 7,000 naira.

I converted it and deposited it into a mutual fund account here in Nigeria.

Now, one week later, the fund has grown from 7,000 naira to 7,029.76 naira which is around 5.021 USD

That’s a 29.76 naira increase. It might look small, but it means the money is working passively. The joy of investment is not about how much you started with but about the growth.

I invested my time on Hive and the growth from level 25 to 56 has been immense. That is growth

Why I’m Sharing This

Most of us earn from Hive and convert, or spend it. Very few actually invest it offline.

My weekly progress report is to show you how your Hive rewards no matter how small can give you something in real life scenario.

It shows that you don't have to wait before earning 100 USD on posts before investing. You can start small.

What I Learned This Week

Compounding is slow but a powerful metric. My current weekly earning is around 0.4% and it's a good start when you think long-term.

Documenting the progress is key because it makes you take your finances more seriously.

I want to show that Hive can be a bridge between blockchain income and real-world wealth creation.

Next Step

My plan is to continue investing every week using my Hive rewards to build a small portfolio that grows steadily.

Soon, I will add another Hive rewards deposit, and I will start sharing comparisons across mutual fund and stock options.

Final Thought

Turning Hive rewards into real investments might sound small at first, but it is a mindset shift.

It is taking earnings on screen into real life investing and financial independence.
