Who?

Once I thought I knew you
The shadow on the wall
The reflection in the window
But now I'm not so sure
What has changed
The face is gnarled
The eyes are dim
That stranger in the corner
Seething with rage
Wet with the sweat
Of a thousand hours in hell
Who is that man?
Who is the monster in the dark?
The door is shut
And the room is empty
A distant voice is growling
Unknown to me
I'm dead and replaced
By a vague sensation of what I was
A ghost
A shell
And what is the difference
I wish I knew.
