My Escape
I run
But only in my mind
With my hand on a mouse
And my eyes on a screen
Watching a world I'll never have
A life unfulfilled
What's my escape?
I dream of a world
But it's impossible
Reality has its grip on me
And won't let go.
I get lost
But only in my heart
With my love in a hole
And my life in a grinder
Ruminating a past I'll never retrieve
A life unfulfilled
What's my escape?
I kill reality
But it only drags me back
When logic tells me
My emotions are futile
My desires silly
And selfish
I don't escape
I drown.

I hear ya on this one! I've had my shovel tampin down on that hole.. that I just covered over in dirt.. a time or two. And those last lines.. wow.. yeah.
