Rogue from Age of Apocalypse

The Marvel Legends retro Rogue figure has seen a staggering (and undeserved) price hike which only sagged a bit with its reissue and the release of one other Rogue figure (from the Pyro two-pack). All are equally bad and exceptionally un-pretty. Their latest release, however, made up for it. This is the Rogue from the Age of Apocalypse storyline.

The dealbreaker with this collector is usually the face sculpt. If it is unappealing, then the entire figure loses its attraction. This is true with the aforementioned retro Rogue, which used Hasbro's default female Marvel face sculpt which is, simply speaking, uglee. The two-pack Rogue is even worse. Thank heavens they made a good one with the AoA Rogue, which is the one featured here.

She may not be photogenic, but the actual toy is quite nice. The sculpt of the costume is okay, too. Worth noting are the large boots, which, while not proportionate to the body, provides the figure with a solid footing.

One eyesore is the peg hole at the back, which is essentially useless since it doesn't come with a backpack. What Hasbro was thinking with that peg remains to be seen.

The decision for the hair sculpt flowing forward is unique too, and is appreciated.

The white whipped cream hair on the forehead is a bit overdone, so that the eyes are always in the shadows if the head doesn't look up. It's a minor inconvenience when posing.
