MANY Spoilers!!

Chapters Read:

  • The Sound of His Voice, The Touch of His Hand
  • Small Rebellions
  • A Crown of Ice and Snow
  • Burrow Grubs

I really kinda forgot just how long Nasuada-Murtagh-Galbatorix's chapters were and how in depth they were. Pretty interesting honestly. I thought this part of the book was a lot more brief.

Apparently Murtagh saved Nasuada from being assassinated by Galbatorix's spies or something along those lines. Nasuada says 'I would have rather died.' I guess in comparison to being tortured. Which I did find odd because she then tells Murtagh that 'He can't give up' yada yada yada. It's like a wild contradiction in my opinion.

Still it is some wild scenes in these chapters. Murtagh forced to torture Nasuada, and like just being in the heart of Galbatorix's castle after the first three and a half books is intense. Galbatorix actually made some valid points regarding his perspective and ideas about the future of Alagaësia. He is obviously way too brutal and does have some contradictions in his own logic as Nasuada herself points out but yeah, I don't know this is quite interesting stuff and I forgot these brief discussions even happened.

Fate is brought up in interesting ways and times and various people have mentioned that fate has a cruel sense of humor. I believe that fate will once again prove funny in that many of Galbatorix's goals may come to fruition, just at the cost of his downfall.

In general Murtagh and Nasuada's growing respect and caring for one another is pretty interesting. Both are victims of Galbatorix's evil, like first hand A to B victims and it's quite cool how they seem to connect despite the danger, literally the most dangerous person right around them. The Burrow Grubs scene was wicked nasty!!

Again, makes me wonder how this is even possible that so much plotting and shenanigans happen under Galbatorix's nose. Galbatorix is known to like always be watching always aware but conveniently he's not when Murtagh and Nasuada talk... Murtagh even eludes to saying Murtagh is gonna mess with her senses soon. Also, earlier in the book, Nasuada says Galbatorix talks similarly to someone but she cuts herself off so Galbatorix can't read her mind. I wonder who she meant?

Galbatorix seems wildly powerful I can't help but wonder what he knows more, and what he allows and doesn't allow to happen... This is all very odd. He says he's learned a lot from the Eldunarí and I just wonder just how much he's learned indeed? Is he allowing certain events to happen even?

Hmmm.

Eragon, Saphira and Glaedr's treacherous journey towards Doru Araeba across the ocean was SO intense! Discovering the Nïdhwal and how it almost got Saphira was stunning! Basically a water dragon!! Too interesting. This trek across Alagaësiahas simply proven to be incredibly fun and mysterious. In general the world of Alagaësia is becoming bigger and more intriguing in general. Seriously some of the most pure fun chapters.

The storm they had to battle was very scary stuff but again as they leave it and see the stars and things like this, yeah just pure fun. All in all chapters and moments like this just emphasize just how great of an escape books are. Wonderful stuff indeed.

This book as pretty much just as good as I recall. It's a bit different now that I'm older, but pretty much just as good for sure. Too fun!!

Nearing the end now... The ending I recall is SUPER emotional!!
