My goodness. Books are so powerful, addictive. A great escape. These chapters were as exciting as ever, I am remembering just why I considered this the best book and one of my favorites ever! The action is epic and after the first three, the action feels SO consequential.
Eragon managed to do something productive for once LOL. I tease him of course, Eragon has accomplished a lot and has done a good job at keeping the Varden a viable threat but until recently he's sort of just been barely good enough. But finally he did manage to do some epic magic and literally throw a pile of rubble at Thorn and Murtagh therefore tossing Thorn across a portion of Dras-Leona thanks to tapping into his ring Aren. The ring his father Brom gave him. Pretty cool that Brom is still helping Eragon after all this time.
All in all Saphira and Eragon, with help from his friends, really gave Murtagh and Thorn some trouble for kinda the first time. I mean, Eragon and Saphira sorta did ok in many of their battles but, it was always clear Murtagh and Thorn were better, of course they have Eldunarí and Galbatorix but yeah, the fact still is that Eragon and Saphira could not best them and this is pretty much the closest they've come to an outright victory, I guess it is a victory.
Still Murtagh and Thorn swore revenge and well revenge they got!
As Arya and Eragon are hanging out, which seemed rather pleasant, Thorn and Murtagh attacked in the night! What a scene! They straight up snatched Nasuada! That is nuts!! Dude, I kinda forgot just how important Murtagh and Thorn are in this series. I mean I did know they were important but, idk they are like way more of a problem and threat than I remembered. I remember that Nasuada gets captured but, I could not recall how. I am so excited for their book!!! I think this series does a good job at showing that Eragon's foes are live threats, I suppose that is cool and realistic.
Now I think I remember how Murtagh and Nasuada kinda become involved or whatnot. I mean back in Eragon it was clear Murtagh had an interest. But now it seems clearer that this is how Murtagh's true name seems to change? I think? Just like Eragon's mom did. So intriguing. INHERITANCE I guess haha. I'm trying to think though, how does the title apply to Eragon exactly? It's probably incredibly obvious but I'm just rambling, and enjoying right now. I also know how it applies to Arya eventually. Hmmm. Idk.
I'm starting to maybe see how Galbatorix gets overthrown here though. He does seem rather oblivious and indeed arrogant. Hmmm. I'm still wondering though how exactly he allows this all to happen without ever deciding to actually attack on his own. Weird. We'll see how it all plays out!
My mind is definitely racing a bit, can't wait to see what happens next! Feels like a lot of story lines are happening at once. Eragon is the main character, but he doesn't necessarily feel like the most important character all of the time, which is rather cool and again, realistic.
Honestly, there is a genuine argument that Murtagh is just as important as Eragon as this story develops. He seems just as instrumental in the goal to restore balance and bring back the Riders. I don't want to get too ahead of myself but Murtagh is a complicated cat for sure.... There may be a huge ramble brewing in the future here.
I also found it interesting that Glaedr declared Thorn lost... Glaedr did lose Oromis recently but he has proven to have a bit of a temper idk. This is so interesting overall.
I'm likely forgetting stuff I want to say but yeah, just having fun with it! This is getting GREAT.
