These chapters were incredible. I swear, re-reading this series is mind blowing in ways I never imagined. Reading this when I was younger, it was a lot easier in a way. I had no real life to reference anything back then. Reading this now is almost too wholesome to handle. The story is so pure and epic that I can't help but think about all the screw ups I've done in my life. The list massive and I've been so dumb. When I read this last, life was far different. Nowadays life is chaos.
Carn dying was pretty sad. The book did a good job at making you care for Carn, without necessarily having a huge back story for him. It was soooo intense how he defeated the Empire's magic user as his final act! Low-key legend Carn is! That scene took me back.
Nasuada continues to be an annoying leader. I guess she's effective which is what matters but otherwise she's kinda not likeable, which again maybe is a good thing but meh, as a reader she ain't winning any brownie points for me LOL. Also, maybe the simple fact that the war is getting closer to its final stage is making her more annoying due to stress. I don't even know how she became the leader the more that I think about it. Truly wild. She speaks like she's some seasoned person and it just feels weird. It's as if she has this knowing wisdom, but how has she actually earned this wisdom? She's one of the youngest people involved besides Eragon ordering super old beings around. When and how did she learn these leadership skills? From her dad? That's the whole explanation? Her dad was a good leader and so she is completely trusted? Like I just don't get it, doesn't feel authentic.
Roran might actually be my favorite character in this series at this point. It's hard to say but he's up there. It was kind of an awesome scene seeing him get to rest in the fancy palace bedroom drinking wine in Aroughs after enduring such a gritty battle.
Glaedr abruptly beginning to assist Eragon in his training was pretty cool. Eragon's enemies are all around him and he's kind of hopelessly unmatched. The timing of it all is intriguing. I think Glaedr gave him some good advice and it clearly worked.
The whole Arya and Eragon situation I find quite corny to be honest. The whole 'I see you' line was mind blowingly cringe worthy. I also just think I'm really over love at this point in my own life, like romantic love. But the whole scene about being calm in battle and all that was nice. It's nice to see Eragon progressing.
Hmmmm. I find myself a bit more critical of Inheritance than I thought. But it's still extremely enjoyable for sure. I think I'm just thinking of my own life as this story goes and well disappointed in my own life. HA.
Oh yeah, the line that Eragon says to himself about brothers should have each other's backs was extremely interesting! I forget how this whole battle goes down exactly. But I'm for sure intrigued by it. Half brothers hmmmm. I have half siblings. I'm so intrigued to read Murtagh soon lol.
Anyway, definitely some interesting chapters.
