Eragon, Chapters 49-52
Chapters read:
The Horns of a Dilemma
Hunting for Answers
The Glory of Tronjheim
Ajihad
These were some of the more important chapters of the series so far. Both action packed and events that really push the plot.
Murtagh's character is way cooler than I remembered. Maybe I'm older, or maybe I'm simply drawn to the 'anti-hero' energy Murtagh gives off, but I like Murtagh a lot more this time around reading Eragon. It's pretty nutty how much everyone seems to treat Murtagh differently once his secret about his father being Morzan is revealed. It makes sense obviously, but yeah. Morzan was a bad dude.
Eragon is really thrust into the war in these chapters. As crazy as life has been for Eragon since becoming a Rider, he has been mostly disconnected from the nitty gritty details of the war and basically everything. As soon as they find the Varden and escape the Kull, the whole vibe switches in the book.
Eragon seeing Tronjheim felt way more epic this time around reading it. I sense the significance of the area. It's truly a sacred, central place for the dwarves. Despite that, I still feel like the description of Tronjheim itself could have been better. I feel as though Paolini tried really hard to be fancy at this point and just overdid it. I do respect it though. It really just shows how I am not the brightest bulb in the pack I guess, LOL.
I do get the area's appearance for the most part and plus, thanks to the internet I can sort of get more of an understanding of what this magical place looks like!
We meet Ajihad for he first time and he does seem pretty intimidating I'd say. He comes off as a good leader, with an odd arrogance about him also, but a tasteful sort of way, very subtle.
Overall these chapters are just an information dump. A lot packed in. But we are nearing the end of our adventure unfortunately so, I guess time for info is upon us!
