"Cirque Du Freak - The Vampire's Assistant" - Chapters 9-16 - My Thoughts

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Chapters Read: 9-16
Well these were some chill, fun chapters for the most part. We finally met Darren's second friend whose name is Sam Grest that I recall reading about oh so long ago.
Sam is a smart guy, and the way he was talking with his big sophisticated words was actually hilarious. Then he started rambling about society and the various injustices of the world and that killed me! Big respect for Sam there. Ugh, what happens to him later is going to be heavy...
They met R.V. as well. R.V. the eco-warrior. I was surprised when R.V. actually made a reasonably ok impression on the group. I remembered him being a bit creepier, but he was just mildly strange, passionate, and smelly. Otherwise he seemed ok. I remember what becomes of him later though, and it's not good.
There's also a THIRD character introduced and it's one of the most important characters in the entire series. Mr. Tiny. Mr. Tiny is super creepy off the bat. He truly says some wild stuff to Darren and Evra that actually shocked me. That's just a taste of what's to come with Mr. Tiny really. Darren actually speaks up and questions Mr. Tiny as they were being dismissed and this was alarming as I'm sure Mr. Tiny isn't used to people just speaking to him willy nilly. I wonder if this is the first sign of Darren defying or surprising destiny, or Mr. Tiny.
I'm also a bit surprised that the Mr. Desmond Tiny connection to Mr. Destiny is made so early on. I thought this connection was made later.
I remember when I first read this, I thought that maybe Mr. Tiny was simply a dramatic, theatric type of guy therefore he sort of gave himself such a name. But nope. Mr. Tiny is the real deal in terms of bad guys.
Obviously in a world full of vampires and other unique creatures, 'Cirque Du Freak' certainly qualifies as a fantasy book already. At first though, the series feels more like an action packed type of book, with fights and danger etc. But slowly but surely the amount of fantasy and sci-fi elements really start to stack up, and I think that's what makes this series special. Well, one of the bigger reasons anyway.
Oh yeah and of course we learn more about the Little People and they're one of the strangest, and more unique characters in this whole series. I can't wait to meet Harkat. I actually have/had a cat named Harkat, she lives with my ex nowadays.
So yep, we've met Sam, R.V., the Little People, and the dreaded Mr. Tiny. Also, Darren met Cormac Limbs, a performer he's not yet met who seems cool as well. His limbs can be removed and they simply grow back. The Cirque seems like a chill place to just hang out I tell ya.
The Cirque is about to put on a new show in the outskirts of this town after having a few days off. Things are about to get chaotic...
