"Cirque Du Freak - A Living Nightmare" - Chapters 18-25 - My Thoughts

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Chapters Read: 18-25
It's funny how Steve is considered evil based on Mr. Crepsley, but meanwhile Darren also decides to straight up steal Madam Octa. Darren is the more mischievous type and Steve has shown more overall intensity and ability to lash out. But still, Darren's actions were very reckless too and had much more dire consequences so, it is interesting to compare the two a bit. Also, Darren admits that Steve would immediately tell the doctors about Madam Octa if Steve were in his shoes and Darren in Steve's. Whereas Darren was being a bit cowardly for a while.
Destiny.... It's wild how Mr. Tiny has played such a role. It's so obvious now in these re-reads. I wonder if Steve had never been told he was evil how he would have turned out. It seems he was always destined to be an edgy guy but it's a pretty tragic situation I guess.
In addition, knowing Mr. Crepsley from having read this before, it is actually pretty wild that he pretty much forces Darren to become his assistant. Mr. Crepsley is a reasonable, wise leader for the most part, what a reckless random move for him to just turn Darren into a half-vampire.
I know I said Steve might be the most interesting bad guy, but what was I thinking? Mr. Tiny might be. Now that's WAY more comparable. Mr. Tiny vs Voldemort HA. Fascinating comparison for sure. Although Mr. Tiny is ultimately way more powerful and sorta hard to compare to any other antagonist. He's arguably just inevitable in a sense.
But yeah, it is ultimately pretty brave of Darren to change his entire life drastically to save Steve from Madam Octa's poisonous bite. It was cool to re-learn the exact aging rates of vampires and half-vampires again.
These chapters coming up will be really rough to re-read...
Indeed things are happening swiftly here. I'm so amazed at how fantastically digestible these books are. These books simply provide great adventures off the bat. Great action, lore, mystery etc. I'm already almost done with the first book, and it's been outstanding.
