Avengers: Infinity War (2018) review

My mission to catch up on a decade of the blockbuster hit Marvel Movies continues, and man this has been a lot of fun! It's been like a really pleasant experience so far and I'm really glad I'm doing it.

Harry Potter is an immovable object in my heart, but I believe these Marvel Movies are earning their way into the neighborhood. They are just so fun, and significantly deeper than I would have gave them credit for before I started.

Perhaps I'm trippin, I know the simple fact that these are all superheroes in these films, it qualifies as 'fantasy'. I believe the additions of Guardians of the Galaxy, my newfound liking of Thor, and Doctor Strange, and Ant-Man have put these movies into another realm for me. More true fantasy vibes in my opinion. Mixed with the more traditional Marvel characters, man these are a blast. Of course nothing is perfect, but they are very good.

Me knowing that Engame is approaching, I kind of think about the movies in a different way, I guess.

Infinity War was a tremendous penultimate with twists I did not see coming. Thanos as a villain has become like, cool, as villains come anyway. His personality is not as predicable as I thought. Also, I had assumed deaths of the heroes or deaths of humanity etc was to come in the Endgame installment, but I was incorrect. Shit went down this movie. It was intense.

That was what I liked. While I enjoy the comedy in these films quite a lot, I feel sometimes they almost joke too much, just my taste. They teeter to being a straight up like comedy action adventure, which I suppose is actually what they are at times. I guess when they're banging out hella films, they gotta be able to keep it light. So when it's serious it really feels serious.

Infinity War absolutely had a real sense of dread that I haven't felt in these movies so far. Spooky stuff. Thanos is a motivated, ruthless villain hellbent on accomplishing his vision of the universe. There is real widespread fear among the Avengers, Thanos seems seriously unstoppable.

That is basically the plot of the movie from what I remember, Thanos is powerful by himself, and he wants these Infinity Stones that will make him absolutely untouchable.

The Avengers battle it out but every step of the way Thanos seems to have the upper hand, gaining stones.

The Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers have one epic scene that was so fun to watch where they actually almost rip of Thanos's glove that contains the stones. It was epic teamwork that required each and everyone to cooperate, which they did. Except till the very end. Star Lord pretty much blows it because of heartbreak, and anger towards Thanos. I was mad, they were so close.

Battles take place in space and on Earth in Wakanda. Wakanda is ultimately where the final battle goes down, and the Avengers truly take a FAT L. Thanos achieves his goal, and wipes out half of the entire earth population. Talk about population control ;) HA.

By the end of the film, everything looks screwed. Thanos did literally exactly what he wanted and has leveled up to beyond God level or so it seems. Half of the entire cast is dead. If got real here.

The action and drama in this one was unforgettable. All the heroes in this movie sacrificed everything for the cause and it was noble, and ultimately sad.

Great movie, not sure where I would rank it, but it was awesome. Perhaps I will do a ranking later LOL.

Now I am officially about to watch Ant-Man and The Wasp. I really enjoyed Ant-Man so I'm hoping this sequel is good too.

Not sure if that was a review or a summary, but those are my thoughts. Not too many complaints, just really good.
