Man this was seriously an enjoyable movie, one of the better Marvel films I've seen in awhile so unique and fun!!

I did not know what to make of this movie when I first heard about it. Was it going to take itself seriously? Was it gonna lean in to comedy too much?

But man it was a legit good movie! Great action and a nice not over the top funny aspect. The concept of being tiny and large at will was sooooo cool to me! It's such a cool idea and the movie did a fantastic job of it.

This movie was really awesome and I would love to watch it again.

One thing about the movie that did disappoint me was Hope's character. The borderline man character that is in every film nowadays. The one that has to stick it to the men in the movie. Prove she's stronger, tougher, and smarter. This character is so played out, annoying and hella predictable. Women are strong in there own ways that men aren't, I do believe that, but that doesn't mean she has to basically be a man with tits. In an otherwise pretty original and awesome movie, that was corny and eye roll worthy.

The movie's villain was surprisingly good which I liked. The battle in Scott's daughter's bedroom was so great!!! The way they almost made it funny with them basically battling with toys was good, like ninety percent serious/ten percent funny, but it was definitely intense and fun. Then when they would become life size from time to time it just got very real and intense. The contrast was so exciting to me. Terrific scene!

Scott and his relationship with his ex and daughter was really relatable for me. Paul Rudd acted that out well. Perhaps that concept of the character trying to see their kid in a divorce situation is also a bit predictable. I don't know if it's because I am a dad now in a similar situation, I'm really not sure. But it worked for me in this movie. Paul Rudd just played a good sad but determined father and his daughter had a lot of cute lines in it. At one point Scott's daughter asked her cop step-dad if he was going to catch Scott. I forget what the step-dad said exactly but the daughter said something like 'I hope you don't' I was like FUCK YEAH!!!

At the end when Scott comes back from the sub-atomic world and basically saved the day, his daughter screamed daddy, my eyes seriously watered, I pretty much cried for like three seconds. Cool ass scene.

Speaking of that sub-atomic level that scene was trippy and amazing. I think that is kind of what made that ending with his daughter emotional. Scott was literally in the same room as his daughter, his daughter was calling his name Scott could hear her but for a time he could do nothing. When he finally came back it was epic.

Overall this movie was a strong 9/10 for me. Hope was annoying but I suppose became more tolerable as the movie went on.

I loved it, I look forward to watching the apparent sequel which I had no clue existed. I am a new fan for sure!

Hive on folks!
