Have you ever wondered what it felt like to be different? To have a different kind of nose, different kind of ear and different paws?..Some paws made of fury while yours is just a paw, made of flesh and bone and nothing furious at all. Haha, I'm just trying to be really dramatic but really that's the kind of vibe you get when you watch a chill movie.
I've always told y'all I'm a lover of Animations, really good ones but then sometimes you'll not know something's good unless you taste it. That's why when I saw this one, I decided to give it a taste. It's not bad to try something different, and it certainly is great to give y'all a little break from the whole #spookymonth vibes. I've read some really scary reviews and it has sent chills running down my spine. It surely was fun, seeing blood fly around, seeing bodies drop and of course experiencing some weird psycho shit.
It really took me a while to actually get in the mood for this movie. After being down for horror alone, this one felt a little too childish for me. It had the whole Kungfu Panda and I was scared it might not really be good enough. But still when I heard Samuel L. Jackson was part of the voice casts I decided to give it a try. This one had the whole ancient Asian setting in a time when cars couldn't fly because they didn't have no tires and toilets were the super bowl because it was a big bowl, hehe.
One thing I could really appreciate in this movie was the humor. Even though some people would complain that this movie is only for little kids I'll argue that it has a little something for the grown ups, enough humor to go around and even though it's not as engaging as Family Guy it certainly can be enjoyed if you just take your mind off a lot of things like who'll win the #spookymonth contest
Paws of Fury
In a land predominantly inhabited by cats, the high ranking official to the Shogun would like to expand his palace and please the Shogun himself tries to do everything in his power to get rid of the impoverish inhabitants of Kakamucho.
He sends a gangs of thugs and sends the inhabitants scampering in fear but his plans still fail to fall in place as the inhabitants ask the Shogun to send them a Samurai.
Here we start to see the plot fall in place with the introduction of a villian, someone scrupulous enough to do anything to achieve his claims. Ika Chu, certainly is one full of ambition and a sneaky cat. He even goes as far as go get himself a super bowl to amaze the Shogun himself. So much for trying to be in favour with the high and mighty.
Hank the dog, who's almost had his head taken off, becomes spared by Ika Chu and he's appointed the new Samurai for the town of Kakamucho. Clearly what follows is him still trying to save his neck from a village where dogs aren't allowed. Would he be able to save his neck or save the town? You'll have to watch it to find out.
My own opinion
Paws of Fury is actually a movie where you'll get a good laugh, humor and childlike Animation gave it a chill feeling. You could certainly get bored at some point because the jokes started to get really boring and quite predictable. I almost laughed out loud for being able to know what joke was going to come next.
The movie tried to portray the Asian culture but it did so quite lazily. Almost reminded me of the last KungFu Panda prequel I had seen. It just didn't go the extra mile and it just gave us the usual. Same settings and a really dull coloring. It wasn't the best Animation style I have seen and it certainly didn't really awe me. But it was ok nonetheless, with some scenes that were almost impressed Animation wise but still lacked a lot of purpose for a movie released on July 7, 2022.
I could say that the plot was quite weak but still enjoyable. The whole use of casts like Samuel L Jackson didn't really add anything new. Yes, it was fun to hear his husky voice in the image of a rough looking cat and yes there were times it just brought out that familiarity but it didn't blow mind. I'm used to watching Animation movies, ranging from japanese anime to other types of Animations like Entergalactic and one thing that actually makes it come out beautiful is either the character development, settings, animation style and also soundtrack. This movie was just an average and it didn't really go deep into detail.
Apart from that I can say that the humor get to you at some point, you know it boring but it's stupidity just humors you the more. I think the directors Rob Minkoff, Mark Koetsier, and Chris Bailey knew what they were looking for when they featured the voices of Michael Cera, Ricky Gervais, Mel Brooks, George Takei, Aasif Mandvi, Gabriel Iglesias, Djimon Hounsou, Michelle Yeoh, and Samuel L. Jackson.
I also must commend the ending, it wasn't really something new but it was impressive. I smiled after watching it and almost swore that if it was bad I wouldn't even bother to review it at all. The plot was really straight forward and it was surely expected for the ending to be that same way but it just didn't really disappoint.
Favourite Scenes
There were a lot of enjoyable scenes and I cannot really pick a Favourite one but the one that really got me was the one where the Shogun makes a call and it passes through a long line of communication and then the one with the Tweets, haha. That one scene really made me laugh, it had me wondering if that was how the invention of a telephone had started.
conclusion
This movie isn't one to expect too much from. It just is something that anyone would enjoy at the very least with an open mind. You should see it if you don't have anything else to watch and you could probably see it with your little children and family. I'll give it a six out of ten.

¿Te has preguntado alguna vez qué se siente al ser diferente? Tener un tipo de nariz diferente, un tipo de oreja diferente y unas patas diferentes... Unas patas hechas de furia mientras que la tuya es sólo una pata, hecha de carne y hueso y nada furiosa en absoluto. Jaja, sólo estoy tratando de ser muy dramático pero realmente es el tipo de vibración que tienes cuando ves una película chill.
Siempre os he dicho que soy un amante de las animaciones, de las buenas, pero a veces no sabes que algo es bueno hasta que lo pruebas. Por eso cuando vi esta, decidí probarla. No está mal probar algo diferente, y desde luego es genial para daros un pequeño respiro de todo el rollo del #spookymonth. He leído algunas críticas realmente aterradoras y me ha dado escalofríos. Sin duda fue divertido, ver la sangre volar alrededor, ver los cuerpos caer y, por supuesto, la experiencia de algunos psicópatas extraños.
Realmente me tomó un tiempo para conseguir en el estado de ánimo para esta película. Después de estar abajo para el horror solo, éste se sentía un poco demasiado infantil para mí. Tenía todo el Kungfu Panda y tenía miedo de que no fuera lo suficientemente buena. Pero aun así, cuando me enteré de que Samuel L. Jackson formaba parte del reparto de voces, decidí darle una oportunidad. Esta tenía toda la ambientación asiática antigua en una época en la que los coches no podían volar porque no tenían neumáticos y los retretes eran la super bowl porque era una gran bowl, jeje.
Algo que realmente pude apreciar en esta película fue el humor. Aunque algunas personas se quejen de que esta película es sólo para niños pequeños, yo sostengo que tiene algo para los adultos, suficiente humor para todos y aunque no es tan atractiva como Family Guy, ciertamente se puede disfrutar si te quitas de la cabeza un montón de cosas como quién ganará el concurso #spookymonth
Patas de Furia
En una tierra predominantemente habitada por gatos, el alto funcionario del Shogun quiere ampliar su palacio y complacer al propio Shogun intenta hacer todo lo posible para deshacerse de los empobrecidos habitantes de Kakamucho.
Envía a una banda de matones y hace que los habitantes huyan despavoridos, pero sus planes no llegan a buen puerto, ya que los habitantes piden al Shogun que les envíe un Samurai.
Aquí empezamos a ver que la trama encaja con la introducción de un villano, alguien lo suficientemente escrupuloso como para hacer cualquier cosa para conseguir sus pretensiones. Ika Chu, ciertamente es uno lleno de ambición y un gato escurridizo. Incluso llega a conseguirse una supertaza para asombrar al mismísimo Shogun. Demasiado para tratar de quedar bien con los altos y poderosos.
El perro Hank, al que casi le arrancan la cabeza, es salvado por Ika Chu y es nombrado nuevo samurái de la ciudad de Kakamucho. Evidentemente, lo que sigue es que él sigue intentando salvar su cuello en un pueblo donde no se permiten los perros. ¿Será capaz de salvar su cuello o de salvar el pueblo? Tendrás que verlo para averiguarlo.
Mi propia opinión
Patas de Furia es realmente una película en la que te vas a reír mucho, el humor y la animación infantil le dieron una sensación de escalofrío. Ciertamente te puedes aburrir en algún momento porque los chistes empezaban a ser muy aburridos y bastante predecibles. Casi me reí a carcajadas por poder saber qué chiste iba a venir a continuación.
La película intentó retratar la cultura asiática pero lo hizo con bastante pereza. Casi me recordó a la última precuela de KungFu Panda que había visto. Simplemente no se esforzó y se limitó a darnos lo de siempre. Los mismos escenarios y un colorido realmente aburrido. No fue el mejor estilo de animación que he visto y ciertamente no me impresionó. Pero, a pesar de todo, estaba bien, con algunas escenas que casi impresionaban en cuanto a la animación, pero que seguían careciendo de mucho propósito.
Podría decir que la trama era bastante débil, pero aún así era disfrutable. El uso de actores como Samuel L Jackson no aportó nada nuevo. Sí, fue divertido escuchar su voz ronca en la imagen de un gato de aspecto rudo y sí, hubo momentos en los que sólo aportó esa familiaridad, pero no me hizo volar la cabeza. Estoy acostumbrado a ver películas de animación, desde el anime japonés hasta otro tipo de animaciones como Entergalactic y una cosa que realmente hace que salga bonito es el desarrollo de los personajes, los escenarios, el estilo de animación y también la banda sonora. Esta película fue solo un promedio y no profundizó mucho en los detalles.
Aparte de eso puedo decir que el humor te llega en algún momento, sabes que es aburrido pero su estupidez solo te hace humorar más. Creo que los directores Rob Minkoff, Mark Koetsier y Chris Bailey sabían lo que buscaban al contar con las voces de Michael Cera, Ricky Gervais, Mel Brooks, George Takei, Aasif Mandvi, Gabriel Iglesias, Djimon Hounsou, Michelle Yeoh y Samuel L. Jackson.
También debo elogiar el final, no fue realmente algo nuevo pero fue impresionante. Sonreí después de verla y casi juré que si era mala ni siquiera me molestaría en reseñarla. La trama era muy directa y seguramente se esperaba que el final fuera de la misma manera pero realmente no decepcionó.
Escenas favoritas
Hubo muchas escenas agradables y no puedo elegir una favorita, pero la que realmente me atrapó fue aquella en la que el Shogun hace una llamada y pasa por una larga línea de comunicación y luego la de los Tweets, jaja. Esa escena realmente me hizo reír, me hizo preguntarme si fue así como comenzó la invención del teléfono.
conclusión
Esta película no es para esperar demasiado. Simplemente es algo que cualquiera disfrutaría al menos con una mente abierta. Deberías verla si no tienes nada más que ver y probablemente podrías verla con tus hijos pequeños y tu familia. Le doy un 6 sobre 10.
