RE: Less Posts, More Curation?

it sounds harsh, but the big voters only have their eye on crap, look at the big communities and what they normally vote for, they make the bloggers who do put in the effort to offer something new fly away from here.

but the big voters only have their eye on crap

That's a very sweeping statement. I get big votes so is my post crap? I was like you once.., I had several posts of substance that gained me $0.00 around March / April 2018.

I can see you have had at least one @ocdb vote. You are doing much better than me when I first started.

Let me give you some advice. Use your voting power. It's at 100% now. It may be worth nothing but people will notice. You can't just join HIVE and expect to be earning big. It's doesn't work like that.

I can see you are a gamer and write reviews. One of yours is No Man's Sky which I just started playing again. Why not use your own images instead of sourcing them?

look at the big communities and what they normally vote for

You are posting in the correct community at least. @hivegc gives out decent votes for good reviews. I don't follow what they vote on, but I generally get one if I do a gaming review.

This is a review I wrote a while ago. It is written from my own perspective. That's what the gaming community is looking for.

You could do OK here, given a little coaching. You don't have to be a massive stakeholder to attract the votes. It's all about the content. If it's good, it will be noticed.

Whoa, seriously thank you so much for those tips, yes I am just starting out but unfortunately I have seen some practices that have frustrated me at times, but you are right! using voting and even commenting really makes a difference when it comes to your content, and it is also true that you don't have to be one of the big fish to earn decently, just post good content in a community full of interactions like Hivegc or OCD, they are pretty cool in the aspect of valuing good content. The reason I don't take screenshots for the most part is because I'm pretty crappy at taking them from my laptop, I think the images I find in the search engines work great plus I love how they look when I combine them with the format I have for my posts, markdown can be beautiful sometimes ;D (although I'm playing doing a Portal gameplay right now and I'll have to learn to take some shots for my next post).

There are some curation groups who give massive votes to... IMO dodgy posts. There's little anyone can do about it, after all.. it is their stake.

For the most part good posts attract the votes (as well as accounts with lots of HIVE - I am telling you straight how it is).

If you are using Windows, you can use the Windows Key + G to get the capture screen option. That's how I used to do my Everquest posts.

I haven't done any gaming posts lately, but I will keep an eye on yours. Use your own images, like I do. Don't be like the rest.. be different.
