Watching the stars. My Actifit diary: April 11 2026
What a morning! Waking up next to her is always a pleasure, and the beautiful weather made it even better. Coffee in bed, breakfast in bed, while watching Malcom in the Middle. We both had watched the whole series once, but have been re-watching as I didn’t watch each and every episode. Since a reboot came out, we decided to try to get through the rest – we’re at Season 7 now. Not sure how many there are…

I did some work in the morning. Danny is struggling with the amount of stress it creates to juggle everything around the restaurant. I wasn’t aware of how much he was under stress, as I’m currently carrying my own bag, so I had taken some things too lightly. He’s also not the best delegating yet, he has to figure out a system for that, too. Delegating is an art, knowing who is capable of what and doing it in the right way. I think I got a few things settled for me now, and will be able to get them ready tomorrow and Monday, to at least take some pressure of him. He did the same for me 2 years ago, so I’m glad to.

It was another friend’s birthday today, so Ellie, her daughter and I went to Ibarra. He had invited us for lunch. It’s not a big thing for him I think, and kind of short notice, and yet I wanted to make it special – at least the gift. He loves the IPA of our local brewery, so I got him a sixpack of that, and asked friends of his that I knew to each send a funny sentence to glue on the box. It came out great, he loved it and thought it was a sweet idea. Mission accomplished.

I was looking forward to a nice evening on the rooftop drinking beer and watching the stars, but a sudden call pulled me out of that. A friend needed urgent help, like super urgent. Close by, luckily, I went over and was able to help him calm down and get him out of his spiral. We talked for a little more, and when I came back to the flat, Ellie and her daughter had already gone inside as it was too cold outside. I finished my beer, and then we brought the daughter (I have to find a nickname for her, too…) home. Ellie decided to stay the night with me, and her daughter was fine with that. So we walked back to my place. Lots of walking. Time to watch a little more Malcolm and then sleep happily next to her.

What a lucky man I am, despite everything.

It definitely is a learning curve learning how to delegate my friend...🙄
One step a time I hope your friend learns how to step back and let others carry some of the work😇
Have a wonderful Sunday and congratulations on a healthy 11 K plus @actifit step steps today!!👍😄
