Memories that don't fade

Even after long times, bad situations that we experience in the course of life, remain intact in our thoughts, they are memories that do not fade, however, something good that happened to us often fades away quickly.

Why does it happen ?

Amazingly but the bad things seem to be stronger than the good things within our memory, we remember and meditate on the bad things that happened better than the good things that brought us happiness for the moment.

We don't laugh over and over again at the same joke, but we cry every time we remember the bad things and for the same reason. I wonder why ?

Our brains are more likely to remember bad things that happened in the past than to be grateful for the good things that already happened. Maybe it's because we took great lessons and had to learn from the lessons and thus take experiences that were bad, as opposed to something that was once pleasant to us and didn't cause us pain or suffering.

Is it possible to erase bad memories?

If we allow to overcome what happened, and try to see that traumatic situation that was experienced in the past, taking advantage of lessons, we will be able to ease the pain of those memories, but it is necessary to make an effort for this to actually happen.

Forgetting the bad things makes us people more resilient and able to overcome bad experiences, making them into learning so that we don't come back to repeat that again.

We remember the friend who abandoned us,
But we don't remember the friend who remains faithful,
We remember the day we were ignored,
But we don't remember the one who helped us,
We remember facts that make us cry,
But we don't remember the days that made us smile,

We are not grateful for anything good that happens to us daily, but we are great at bringing up memories of bad facts and events.

It would be good if... ➴

it were possible to alter or erase negative memories, thus allowing our memory to be reconstructed, bringing to light only the memories that are good for us.

Hello dear, How are you? I think making peace and accepting the bad phases of past really helps in getting over bad memories. Although its too difficult to forget but we can reach a understanding where bad memories can't haunt us. Also we have plenty of good memories to make ourselves happy and stronger. Have a beautiful and memorable day 😊🙏. !PIZZA

The ability to erase memories is actually a mechanism of defense against depression. It is shown that the people who forget easily have a diminished tendency to be depressed. On the contrary, PTSD is related to anxiety and depression.

I would like to acquire this ability to erase memories. But I don't think it's possible. Our brain determines what we remember and what we don't remember..

Erasing the memory may be impossible, but I believe that the more we emphasize the thoughts that hurt us and cannot be changed, the focus will be totally connected to that and we suffer accordingly.

Perhaps, the idea is to change the focus of thoughts...

Thank you @alekst7!

Really what you said is true... The saying goes: Anxiety is an uncomfortable and projected feeling for the future, which we long for the future. Depression, on the other hand, is a feeling of brooding over the past that cannot be changed.

Thank you @marcusantoniu26 !

Indeed It's quite difficult to erase bad memories. It is better to come with terms with things replace them with more better ones. It's important to also accept this bad memories has part of some learning curve going forward so it doesn't haunt and so that we make better decisions when faced with similar occurrence.

Yes... I agree with your thoughts... the fact is that good things that happen to us soon disappear from our memory, however, we hammer on bad memories too much... the right thing would be to change the focus of thought so that we don't get hurt.

I so much love the write up.its true that bad things hardly go away instead of remembering the good things that come across them.sometime bad things seen not to go away because of the effort some person made in life of others for them to become successful in life but what them paid in return is evil.today you introduce your friend in your line of business to become successful like you, and you discover that he letter sent people's to killed you for him to take over the business from my you,in that kind of issues even those you try to let it go but your spirit won't let you be.To become successful in life is the prayers of every one in life and not to think about your past of what happened to you.

Look, this is complicated...

Therefore, in the bible it says: Cursed is the man who trusts in man "

Betrayal always happens, even worse that it always comes from someone we trust the most, we even help... There is no way to predict who is with us for love, or who is beside us just to deceive us.

Definitely in life bad memories is like a magnetic thing I'm the brain which it can never be erased even whlith those who forget something easily self can forget the bad experiences having in there life time. Meaning that its very difficult to clear such memories because if something similar like that of there experience happen again they surely flashed back immediately

Yes it true that we remember bad thing than the good thing, because the bad thing is a painful thing and you they said the wound place can never be like the body itself.

Because you will always remember that this wound happen on so so date and you will remember the incident.

Because is a painful thing which have caused trauma to the memory, some do remember good thing but as you have said that.

We remember bad than good thing,I will say at of 100% bad thing remember take 70% while good thing take the remaining 30%.

It show that the ability to erase the memory of bad thing is difficult because the brain have capture it.

But is good we should just and learn how to be greatful
