Gen X myself and people call me a hippie every other day at least, really i am just someone that loves nature with a believe in self sufficiency cause i have chickens as well as grow and raise my own food as much as possible.
Personally i don't really identify with any labels, just like you are just living your life in the mountains, i just live my life in the midlands doing the exact same things as you.
I just don't use shops much cause i prepare, grow and raise.
I met someone yesterday that didn't even know where chicken eggs came from and was shocked i had them wondering around my garden.
His exact words was "What do chickens do?"
🤣🤣🤣
Luckily i educated my kids, these millennials and gen z need help.

Wow that's really almost unbelievable that someone doesn't know where chicken eggs come from..... Some people are so detached from growing anything or taking care of anything for themselves!🙄
Sounds like we have the same mindset my friend we had chickens up until a few years ago..... they slowly got picked off probably by weasels or coyotes, they actually dug underneath a fenced enclosure to get to our chickens!!
