It is funny to me that people are surprised we have less winter or that the seasons have shifted even.
We are coming out of an ice age cycle, i am sure environment issues like pollution has a little to do with global warming but it is mostly a cycle this is what the planet does.
The seasons shifting is because we don't use the proper calendar there should be 13 months not 12, when people mess with dates and times it wacks everything out of sync.
Somethimg i was told was actually which you may find interesting
"April is the beginning of the year that is why the first of April is called fools day because only a fool would not realise that spring is the beginning of the year."
People messed around with dates so much no one has a clue what the hell is going on.

I think you are spot on, I used to think the winter solstice was the darkest day of the year as well... after I checked with AI I discovered that the mornings keep getting darker until about January 3 to January 6🙄
