Commission for Receiving and Investigating Reports of Unidentified Flying Objects (CRIDOVNI). It was officially created on August 7, 1979, to complement the tasks of Air Traffic Control, due to the repeated complaints by the population and in different localities of the country about the sighting of UFOs. Because yes, in Uruguay almost everyone has seen a UFO. Comisión Receptora e Investigadora de Denuncias de Objetos Voladores No Identificados (CRIDOVNI). Fue creada oficialmente el 7 de agosto de 1979, para complementar las tareas del Control de Tránsito Aéreo, por causa de las reiteradas denuncias por parte de la población y en distintas localidades del país sobre el avistamiento de OVNIS. Porque sí, en Uruguay casi todo el mundo a visto un OVNI. Las personas comentan sus experiencias, no sólo eso, existen fotos, vídeos, y siempre CRIDOVNI tiene que realizar las investigaciones correspondientes.

Con la información recopilada y clasificada en un banco de datos, comienza la investigación. Consiste en un estudio y cooperación de técnicos científicos locales e internacionales. Estos científicos intentan determinar características, leyes y/o pautas de comportamiento de los OVNIS que mantengan un desarrollo aéreo no terrestre. En cada uno de los análisis existen diferentes cuestionamientos, como puede ser la posibilidad de fraude por parte de los testigos o terceros. Además se determina la posibilidad de tratarse de un fenómeno terrestre o no, así como la posibilidad de tratarse de una ilusión psicológica.
