Trea Turner walks it off for the Phillies in the 10th!! | Phils seek the 4 game sweep today over the Braves!
The Phillies won a very exciting game yesterday, once again low scoring but still full of drama and clutch moments. After a great pitching duel between Chris Sale and Cristopher Sánchez the game went into extras where the Braves immediately struck first and took a one run lead. Of course both teams start with a man on second in extras so it's slightly easier to hopefully get one run back so, I was mildly optimistic.
But oh boy it was not easy, oh boy it was stressful. The Phillies loaded the bases in the bottom of the tenth. Trea Turner came to bat. Two outs, with an 0-2 count... BAM Trea Turner hits a smooth single between first and second that drives in two to WIN THE GAME. Man that's a moment that you dream about as a kid. Turner is the man. Citizens Bank Park has been spoiled recently. Wish I was there!

Yesterday, Turner had three of the Phillies' six hits. With Kyle Schwarber having such an awesome season, I don't know if enough people are appreciating what Trea Turner is doing in 2025.

While it was unfortunate the Phillies struggled big time against the Mets earlier this week, the Mets have since struggled and the Phillies have since succeeded! The Mets lost this afternoon, officially losing three out of four versus the Marlins and as a result the Phillies can push their lead to seven games in the NL East with a win today! All games count! It stinks the Phillies choked like that against the Mets but, they are slowly kind of being rewarded for their overall performance as a team!
The Braves and Phillies have a pretty good rivalry and in general the Braves won't want to be swept in a four game series! So it will be tough. The last two victories were extremely close as it is. Phillies got to bring their A game and make the Mets pay for their struggles vs Miami!
For the Phillies, Jesús Luzardo seeks his 13th win on the mound today.
It's the last game of August... September baseball is practically here now... let's go!!
