Titans hire Brian Daboll as OC, Gus Bradley as DC! Could the Titans have one of the best coaching staffs in football next year?
Well, right before Super Bowl LX, why not talk about the TITANS!? Hahaha.
But yeah as much as the Super Bowl is always exciting, as a loyal Titans fan my mind is always on my team from Tennessee.
After some rough years here, maybe the Titans are on the right track! Not too long ago, the Titans hired Robert Saleh as their newest Head Coach. I mentioned in that post that I would be way more excited about Saleh depending on who they hired as the Offensive Coordinator.
Well, the other day the Titans hired Brian Daboll as their OC! I love this! Daboll helped develop quarterbacks like Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts. He also won a playoff game with Daniel Jones! He seems like the ideal choice to help Cam Ward! Too good! Daboll is absolutely a Head Coach caliber coach and to have him besides a defensive mastermind in Robert Saleh seems outstanding.
Daboll is a 5x Super Bowl Champion, and has also won NFL Assistant Coach of the year as well as straight up NFL Coach of the Year! This could be a slam dunk hire! Daboll has a strong reputation in general and for him to choose the Titans must mean he has faith in Cam Ward and this team!
In addition, the Titans hired Gus Bradley as their Defensive Coordinator. Bradley is a recognizable, respected name around the league for sure. He also has head coaching experience. While Saleh will likely be the core defensive mind on the Titans, Bradley is certainly going to be quite useful. Bradley worked with Saleh just last season in San Francisco so they must get along pretty well. Another notable accomplishment for Bradley is that he helped develop the famous Seattle Seahawks 'Legion of Boom' defense in the early-mid 2010's.
Finally, the Titans managed to keep Special Teams Coordinator John Fassel. Fassel has plenty of experience and last season he helped the Titans have one of their best special teams seasons in awhile. It's also great that an important Titans coach is remaining in two-tone blue!
While Super Bowl LX goes down tonight, hopefully the Titans are on their own path to greatness!
I really feel like on paper, this is one of the better coaching staffs in the NFL! Time will tell!
For now, I have some beef pot roast in the slow cooker, a few cold beers in the fridge and a SUPER BOWL to watch!
