🌎My Thoughts on the Sports World Today🌎
In the real world, NFL Week 4 is done! I'm a bit late as Week 5's Thursday Night game has already occurred but meh oh well. Let's dive into last week's games a bit.
Seahawks defeat Cardinals, 23-20. Seahawks intrigue me in a big way. So far the Seahawks look smart for signing Sam Darnold in place of Geno Smith. The Cards look as average as ever, which isn't a bad thing really. Long season left maybe they'll improve.
Steelers defeat Vikings, 24-21. This one was in Ireland! Aaron Rodgers looks slightly better than I anticipated he'd look. The Vikings shouldn't be overly discouraged although their QB situation is pretty mysterious at the moment.
Falcons defeat Commanders 34-27. Falcons had a big bounce back game. Good for them. Marcus Mariota has held down the fort for the most part for the Commanders, but there's a decent chance Jayden Daniels makes his return this week.
Giants shock Chargers, 21-18. Oh snap, what a game. Jaxson Dart made a substantial statement by winning this one as QB1 for the Giants. Seems like he may have retired Russell Wilson as an NFL starter. Chargers should be fine, I don't imagine they really took the Giants too seriously and still kept it close.
Eagles defeat Buccaneers, 31-25. This was a pretty fun game. Baker and the Bucs should be good, although they need Mike Evans back asap. The Eagles seem as good as ever. They seem rusty at times but not rusty enough as they're undefeated even without involving A.J. Brown as much.
Patriots crush Panthers, 42-13. Patriots move to .500 with a strong victory over the Panthers. They have a big test next week against the Bills in primetime, I'm curious to see how that goes. Panthers are struggling but, they're still miles beyond my Titans LOL.
Bills defeat Saints, 31-19. Saints gave the Bills a run for their money but ultimately were outclassed. I think the Saints are better than most think, but they still aren't that great. The Bills are still awesome.
Lions crush Browns, 34-10. The Lions made me nervous in their opening game, but they have quickly proven that they'll be fine. The Browns just ran into a buzz saw here. I'm curious to see how rookie QB Dillon Gabriel plays in his debut. He's got a lot of pressure since the media wants Shedeur Sanders to play, but maybe that pressure will push Gabriel to greatness we shall see.
Jaguars defeat 49ers, 26-21. Jags somehow keep winning. Unbelievable. The Niners should be ok.
Rams defeat Colts, 27-20. The Rams are super game and a hard out for anyone. Colts finally looked beatable. Other than my Titans, if the Texans can pick it up, the AFC South might be really exciting to watch in 2025.
Bears defeat Raiders, 25-24. All of a sudden the Bears are 2-2. I'm far from a believer yet but yeah, good for them I guess. The Raiders have been underwhelming to say the least so far. Geno has not been great but I feel like he doesn't exactly have the greatest weapons of all time either. I think Ashton Jeanty is beginning to find his stride though.
Chiefs defeat Ravens, 37-20. This could be the worst the Chiefs have looked in the Mahomes era but it's too early to tell. Even if this is the case, they're still hanging around. The Ravens are in trouble. They've had a tough schedule to open up the season and now Lamar Jackson looks like he'll miss some time. Yikes.
Cowboys and Packers TIE, 40-40. Micah Parsons couldn't quite beat his old team in what was an all-time classic!
Dolphins defeat Jets, 27-21. The Dolphins got a much needed win but unfortunately lost Tyreek Hill in the process. I'm starting to majorly lose faith in Justin Fields as a starting QB. Not exactly a hot take, but yeah.
Broncos crush Bengals, 28-3. Bo Nix and the Broncos are proving to be better than I thought, and the Bengals don't have Joe Burrow. So yeah, this monstrosity of a game ensued LOL. I thought Jake Browning would be more competent than this but yikes. Although that o-line in Cincy is made of balsa wood.
Hurry up Sunday!
