Phillies win another series with their victory yesterday! | Ranger Suárez set to make his 2025 debut this afternoon
The Phils have officially won three series in a row after their dominant 7-2 victory yesterday over the Diamondbacks. Aaron Nola struck out eight in six innings of work on his way to his first win of 2025. It's definitely nice to see him look better, it was looking scary for a bit there. I'm still somewhat worried about him but it's good to see he's still capable. This second consecutive strong outing by Nola also reduced his ERA to under 5 at 4.61.
The Phillies offense looked outstanding yesterday, every single batter reached base and seven players recorded a hit. Max Kepler homered for a second day in a row, this time it was a two run shot. He's now homered in three of the last four games! Kepler hitting home runs like this IN Philly is definitely a good way to get on the city's good side! J.T. Realmuto also smashed a three-run homer. The Phillies offense really set the tone early yesterday, scoring all of their seven runs from innings 2-4. They had the Diamondbacks playing catchup all game long and even with Nola struggling a bit, a seven run cushion is definitely more than enough for the Phillies veteran.
Today the Phillies are looking for their 20th win, a sweep of the Diamondbacks, and hoping Ranger Suárez has a great first start of 2025. I'm glad to see Ranger back. The Phillies are now twenty percent through their season. They started the season hot, experienced a slump and are now warming back up again. With Nola looking better, Ranger returning and the offense looking more consistent, I'm hoping the Phillies are ready to enter an extended groove!
Should be an interesting game!
